Later on, we may be able to add/change rules. -- As for abilities, make sure that they aren't all just "Oooo Magic". For Ranger, possibly a skill where you fire multiple arrows simultaneously or with seemingly superhuman accuracy. If every skill is magic-ish then I expect you to be more of magic based nature-class (Like Druid/Shaman) than ranger.

I need some help with Potion Summoner skills. I have a couple different potions to summon but now I need to fill in some levels with different skills I can use the potions in.

I'm currently think of ideas for some melee fighters.
Barbarian They're big, They're strong, They go wild in battle. Weapons? They don't need weapons. They could beat someone to death with a stick. Grab a big weapon and wade into the melee. Rule-wise, They would possess few activateable abilities. Those would be things like Rage and an ability to purge ongoing magics or something. The other abilities would include a few always passive ones, and also some ones that affect the barbarian while in Rage mode or under the affects of something. For them, a physical strain system would work well. Once they go over a certain limit, they begin to temporarily loose Con and Str. They would only get it back after several days of resting. Solider Name's rather iffy. These fighters aren't idiots. They have functioning brains and they make use of the fact. They work well in groups and use smart tactics to win battles. They'll trip you, use fancy sword moves, retreat if needed and always make sure they have the high ground. Ok. Idiotic attempts at describing them aside.. This class would feature several melee skills that would both damage and weaken/debilitate an enemy. They would also likely have things like "Stances", passive abilities that can be turned on and off. Even battle cries that benefit the whole group. I'd favor a kind of point pool for them. You gain a maximum point value based on level and every skill costs a certain number of points. Once you're out of points you can't use anymore skills for the day. The points would recharge daily.

I'm thinking along the lines of this.
Mik Hael. Class: jester: Jesters are roaming vagabonds often described as Jacks of all trades and masters of none.Their abilities themselves are a mix between magicians, theives, minstrels, and fighters. Jester's carry with them an aura of lighthearted trickery, but have been known to hide an almost inate wisdom of the workings of the world. They prefer hand to hand combat, but have been known to don light weight weaponry and armor when the Occassion calls for it. With the use of Mystical abilities you accumulate mental and or physical stress, as well as the increase of your insanity stat. The insanity stat will decrease over time, but if it reaches the maxium you will loose consciousness. Maximum insanity increases per level. Abilities, and attributes. Level 1: Spiritual perception: Able to percieve and interact with spiritual beings and aura's. As well as the ability manipulate their own aura in order to increase. Their defense and the strength of physical attacks. Increases upon each level. Level 2: Unnatural enlightenment: Physical parameters are enhanced,along with the developement of a natural resistance to most poisons, and enchantments. You no longer need food or water, Functioning by absorbing the ambient energy around you. Increases per level. Level 3: illusions and elements: The ability to summon minor illusions and manipulate the elements at the strength of an amateur elementalist. Strength of illusions and elemental manipulation increases every other level Level 4: Warping: Short range teleportation: The ability to warp from one location to another. Maxium distance five feet. If warping to maximun distance you will experience a fieling of extreme inertia and vertigo for several seconds. Maximum distance increases, and feeling of inertia decreases per level. Level 5: Phasing The ability to become temprorily incorporeal for a short amount of time. During which you become invisible and are able to pass through non magical object and barriers. Maximum time two seconds. time increases every other level. Level 6: Minor shape shifting: The ability to shapeshift and produce minor changes in other objects and people through touch. The ability to shape shift increases upon each level. Level 7: Fighting acrobatics: Develops a fighting style which can only be described as a double jointed monky learning Kung Fu. Level 8: Gift of Gab: The ability to speak, read, and understand almost all languages. As well as the ability to Talk your way out of or into almost anything. Persuasive abilities increase upon each level. Level 9: Minor theivery: Develops the basic skills of a Theif, such as lock picking, And general sneakiness. Abilities increase every other level. Level 10: Matter manipulation. Can create or destroy small amounts of non living matter. Can use this ability to create carbon copies of certain items. Amount increases every other level. Level 11: General Knowledge: You remember almost everything you see and hear and can recall it at a moments notice. Level 12: Copy cat: An enhancement of the previous level. IF you've seen it, and have the physical, spiritual, or mental capabilities to do it, you can. Level 13: Instrumental mastery: Play any instrument. with Almost master ability. Level 14: Fool's wisdom: Develope an unearthly wisdom at the further cost of your sanity. Level 15: Soul manipulator: Can manipulate spirits, and being able to read and alter the souls and minds of others., as well as the ability to shift your body into an astral stae. ability increases per level. Level 16: Spacial manipulation: Minor telekinesis. Increases upon each level Level 17: Insanities rampage: The ability to transfer your accumulated insanity into another person or object, as well as the ability to cure the minds of others by temporarily taking it upon yourself. Level 18: Authorities glare: The ability to impose your will upon animals, people and monsters. Level 19: Jester's rampage: The ability to allow the insanity to consume you for a short period of time, in exchange for a large burst of power. After this occurs you loose consciousness for a time dependent on how long you've spent in this state. Level 20: Jack of all trades: Master level Jeser: And acces to various techniques, including Jester's Carnival.

By the way, Everyone? Stop thinking in terms of superpowers. Think less, "Fire Manipulation" and more "Fireball!" In essence, don't add really broad things like that to your abilities. Think in terms of specific abilities. If you are a fire mage, list different fire-based spells instead of just going with "Fire manipulation". I have already given up on just having a nice, rule-less, story-based fantasy roleplay. The rest of you seem to want one with rules, because of that, there will be rules. /rant end.

Make an example of your class like Jester and Shadowulf did. Add the abilities you want most.
Then add a list of the other ones you wish you could add. After that, I will go over yours and then we can discuss how to try and incorporate your ideas into the class.

I don't feel strongly either wayBut since this isn't a video game we shouldn't neccessarily have to limit ourselves to such direct abilities as fire ball when we could just say fire manipulation.
