I was just going to continually hit them untill they died....

they don't die you continually hammer away at them, if your lucky you can hit them with enough  force to temporarily banish them, but since their spirits they just keep popping up IT"S FREAKING ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They shoudl be able to banish spiritual beings rather easily, at least low level ones.
