In the Hebrew Bible, the site was initially where apostate Israelites and followers of various Ba'als and Caananite gods, including Moloch, sacrificed their children by fire (2 Chr. 28:3, 33:6; Jer. 7:31, 19:2-6).

In both Rabbinical Jewish and Early Christian writing, Gehenna was a destination of the wicked. This is different from the more neutral Sheol/Hades, the abode of the dead, though the King James version of the Bible traditionally translates both with the Anglo-Saxon word Hell.

Have you checked the Islam version of hell described in The One Thousand and One Arabian Nights? It had something to do about the least tortuous hell having thousands of fiery mountains, each with seventy thousand fiery cities, each with seventy thousand fiery castles, each with seventy thousand fiery houses, each with seventy thousand fiery couches(not the kind you would think of, but similar), and on each fiery couch a different torture.

Yeah, but you can doubt the validity of each of those stories. besides that's on the ethereal plane, the gate itself would have a physical site where it could most easily be summoned at.
