 Yeah, I guess the 'reality challenged' bit is sort of like the word 'fanboy/girl'. It's only really a bad thing, when the person-in-question's 'reality-challenged' nature leads to unacceptable results.

Kick-butt, when it leads to NB and other awesome RPs.

Laughable, when it leads to accidentally-cruddy superpowers, which were originally intended to be taken seriously.

Interesting, but a horrendous misinterpretation of the autistic mind's capabilities. I think it'd give people the wrong image about autistic individuals, who are not portrayed well as it is.

I appreciate your insight.  I must confess that I don't know enough about autism to offer an opinion here.  Thanks for sharing your perspective.

What would you change about this submission (or would you delete it wholly) to reflect a more accurate representation?

I would likely make it a less potent ability (such as mention an improved, but not photographic memory and probably remove psychic powers) and mention that it is without the normal side effects.

Well, I denied my first power.

It was a power called "Black Power" and it gave you the "enhanced abilities of a black person". One of the cons indicated a reduction in intelligence. I thought it could be considered more than slightly racist, but I promised to bring up the issue here and see what people thought of it. I am curious to hear of the opinions of others, particularly Shadowulf1 and Narrator, as they are on the receiving end of this type of treatment.

Sad part is, I can't even really get angry, though.

It was some poor, ignorant oaf's attempt at flattery, I think. Or worse yet, a cry for attention. *sigh* A pity, really.

Thing is, if rewritten to a sufficient extent, the power could be turned into a perfectly legitimate power, perhaps a series. It could operate on a given races' stereotypical traits, with amplification. This guy was just an idiot who ruined the concept.

Actually, I might make a power like that; you gain abilities based on the stereotypes applied to one's ethnic group or country of origin. The country of origin stereotype seems interesting.
