Yes, but this is an ocean. You can't really shake it. XD

@First comment: The water sloshing all about is gonna be pretty turbulent...
@Second comment: Even they need to surface after a while...don't they? (Never really cared to look it up, now I think about it...)

animals are smarter than you'd think, they'd all evacuate to the highest grounds they could find, the mountains like everest would probably be good spots, with the water level increased the temperature there would level out as well...by the way where does the extra oxygen come from.....if the entire world is flooded to the point where there are no longer any land massess the earths oxygen supply would kind of thin out with the atmosphere.

Okay, then I suppose elephants and cows and rhinos and various insects and birds would just be fine...

Algae.
They would produce more than enough oxygen.

Maybe the atmosphere would get thicker, what with the amped-up water cycle...

Depends. If it's endless rain like jester is saying, it won't be that bad beneath the surface.
There's nothing stopping them from doing so, is there?

True. But when I think flood, I think full out, world-scale, "The Day After Tomorrow", apocalyptic, Noah's Flood type stuff.
If it's not that, then the fishies and such should be fine...

...I was thinking somewhere around the water level increasing worldwide by about three inches a day....or week if you want it to go by slower.

Either way is fine with me, I'm just saying that I didn't know the rate of water increase...

Yes, I know. I just remember somebody bringing up the physics of how it all happened, and it got me thinking is all. But, being "normal" people in the RP (with the exception of having powers), I doubt they'd ever really contemplate it.

Not necessarily; those species which are immobile generally release swimming larvae, which could settle the highest mountains, around the area which surfaces during low tide. They would have to adapt to grow more quickly when there is ample sunlight and slow down their metabolism when there's not.

True, algae produce 75%-95% (can't remember exactly) of the oxygen on Earth anyway. Reduce the number of fires and animals and we would be fine.
Any other ideas for where the water comes from? I'm open to ideas. Who thinks it should start a while after the flood has come or as it comes?

Melting of ice caps/unnatural rain would desalinate the oceans, causing mass fish death and destroying the ocean ecosystem. All we want to happen is to experience a global ocean.
