Nix takes a step back from the carnage but the commotion outside is enough to persuade him to make his way deeper into the house.

He gases off towards the living room. "Let's try not to think about it or we may end up like whatever is in there."

Nix moves past the remains of the dog and begins moving up the base of the stairs.

As you swing around to mount the stairs you get a brief look at the living room. Someone is laying unmoving on the floor at the end of the trail of blood, a backpack slashed open on their back. The front door is in the living room, open to the world. But that's all you get from your brief look.

As you head up the stairs, you see what looks like a hastily constructed barricade made up of a desk, mattress, and bed frame at the top of the stairs. It looks as though it would be easy to climb over, however,

Outside, the gunshots stop. You hear a man begin to scream.

Sascha winces and climbs up to peek over the barricade.

The hallway you see is clear, the open door at the end of it is probably the bathroom that was confirmed. Along the hall are three other doors, each closed. One is covered with stickers and reads and sports the names "Ben and Adam" in bright letters screwed right into the door.

Typical childrens bedroom: bunk beds, toys lining the floor from an open chest in the corner, posters of animals and cars and crudely drawn crayon portraits lining the walls. Almost idyllic in it's charms.

Whoever was here before you doesn't seem to have touched this room.

Nix pulls himself up over the barricade on the stairs and joins the others in the hall. He edges past the others exploring the room and makes for the window to scout out the outside of the house.

Re: Apocalypse RP #3: The Vanishing

Philote:  Out in the front street, in front of rows and rows of identical houses, you can see a man stumbling around clutching his face. He's tall but very skinning, with his matted blond hair hanging about his head in long knots. He's dressed as though he has just woken up, though the muddy red/brown stains that dot his formerly white pajama pants and t-shirt attest to the fact that he hasn't had a change in a while. His gun lay up the street, tossed onto the grass of a nearby yard.

The shaggy brown dog from before seems to be pacing back and forth behind him as though it's unsure of what to do.

The man turns, pulling at something on his face toward the window. It looks like some sort of white....

It's a dog. One of the terriers from before. The front half of that little dog is protruding from his face and trying to find a place to sink it's teeth. The man tugs, but can't seem to detach the thing. He run is a blind, drunken stumble toward the house you're in.

The screaming has stopped.

Nix stumbles back from the window. That was not a sight he was happy to experience.

"We were wrong. That battle in the front yard is not coming for us, but it is killing a man out there."

Nix pauses for a moment and contemplates if its worth risking their lives to save someone outside their group.

"The dogs have him surrounded and I'm not sure if he can even breath at the moment unless we go to help him."

Unknown creatures, most likely dogs. Almost certainly not normal dogs. Attacking a person we don't know. Said person might have useful information. Each second increased the likelyhood of his death or maiming. The more injures he suffered, the less useful he would be.

"Let us go now, before he dies."

Tyler pipes up from beside Ben, "Yes, um, I agree with the smart one. Let's go with that idea."

The decision had been voiced now, and there was no going back with what little time left they had to save the man. Nix couldn't even slink away to the back of the group while the rest handled the situation, not with how his powers might be vital this time.

"Leon, use your powers and jump down there and buy us some time to help him. I'll meet you down there once I get around the house" Nix says. He turns back to the stairs and begins making his way over the barricade, not waiting for an answer when every second counted.

Re: Apocalypse RP #3: The Vanishing

Gentleman Vaultboy
The dogs turn to look at you; the shaggy brown mutt that hat the rabbit before and half a little white terrier exuding out of the guys face. The mutt starts shaking, but the little one starts barking wildly. There's a sound like a wet sneeze as the little thing is sucked backwards though into the guys face, revealing his tired, ragged features. Gasping for breath he stumbles and trips over the sidewalk onto the grass in the front yard.

"Oh thank Christ." you hear him yell.

The mutt looks left and right, then there's another of those wet sounds as the terrier leaps out of it. It barks excitedly, then does a tiny little excuse for a howl. This seems to strengthen the mutts resolve. The tangled hair of it's body begins to to rise up, then several lochs of it weave together. It shoots off the dog like a spear, descending on the man.

Re: Apocalypse RP #3: The Vanishing

The hair spike bounces off of Leon's back harmlessly thanks to his dense skin. The man, meanwhile, drags himself out from under you and runs, in a panic, through the front door.

The shaggy dog seems uncertain, but then shakes it's head as id to steady it's resolve.. More of it's hair coils together into a second tendril, and it lashes out with both to try and grab Leons arms.
