With the hallway successfully barricaded, the search of the room doesn't yield much. This place has been thoroughly picked over. You do find some old spices, including salt which is still good.

In the oven, you see that the leg is in fact that of a dog. Someone had ripped out the innards of this oven and constructed a makeshift fire pit within, over which several rotting piece of meal like the dog leg hang on spits. Other than the natural rot, it's completely untouched.

You also find the garbage in a bag under the sink. sticking out of the top of the stinking bag is animal skin, what hair is left long and similar to that of the collie from the hallway. Whatever else is in there squelches whenever you move the bag.

A cleaver comes out from under the shattered table. There is dried blood on the blade. You also get a few spare pieces of metal, thumbtacks and scraps and the like.

Also, a collar. The metal nameplate reads "Rusty." It's been cut off.

Rorschev takes the salt, and goes to check the bottom of the stairs for any signs of transit, If no one has used them in the span of a week or even a few days, a small layer of dust should have built up onto the stairs.

Ben Grabs the scrap metal and carefully tucks in into one of the thick pockets in his coat before turning back to the Cleaver still suspended by his powers in front of him. He eyes it dubiously and gingerly plucks it from the air by the handle. Next he grabs a hold of the collar and holds it up so Rorschev can see.

"What do you make of this?"

Oh, right. There's no way into the bathroom. If this house is like the one you were in, the bathroom is upstairs. There is a doorway leading into the basement, however.

Rorchev examines the cleaver closely, smelling for any hints of iron..."Dry blood, it means someone, or something that can use tools, has been here rather recently...it's probably what's been eating the neighborhood dogs....and whatever left that trail of blood...Wait here, and keep an eye on that hallway, if anything tries to break through that door, run, and get the others, I'm going to check the basement."

Rorschev retrieves the flashstaff from midspace....looking at the end of it for a second, he also retrieves a steak knife from midspace, giving it to the end of the flashstaff creating a primitive spear.

They fuse, but the end of the flashstaff develops a small network of cracks from the process.

It works. A little awkward to point at things, but it works.

" Good." Rorschev turns towards the door to the basement and carefully opens it, checking for any signs of transit.

The stairs have seen travel, though not recently. You can see clear differences in the dust levels that shows someone has been down there, but not for a good few months.

Also, it doesn't smell as though anyone were living down there. The air down there is actually fresher than in the kitchen.

Slowly descends stairs, if Rorschev does not detect anything by the time he reaches the bottom, observe room.

Nothing really to see down here, other than the fact that anything useful has already been made off with.

It kind of reminds you of your own basement, just not stocked with oodles of supplies like yours was. In fact, it seems sterile in here.

Ben starts to get nervous having been left alone. He inches towards the basement and calls down.

"R? What's down there?"

Rorschev sighs in relief and relaxes his shouldes for an instant before returning upstairs to the kitchen. "The Basement is clean, nothing down there for us though, we may have to resort to eating from our friends supply of quisine." Rorschev glances towards the bag or rotting meat and skin. "I'm going to go check the second floor."

Vault/Zale:  Nix took a moment to catch his breath now that the dogs had retreated. He had remained out of the conflict at his own choosing, something he guesses his companions would not appreciate if they pondered on the matter to closely. Sitting down next to the hole in the fence, Nix takes another moment to examine his leg as part of the group moves inside the house and Sascha keeps watch with him in the alleyway.

With the relative calm that had overtaken the area after recent events, Nix takes the opportunity to talk with his companion and fiddle with his equipment.

"Have you noticed that there seems to be an extraordinary amount of dogs around here compared with the relative lack of anything else?" he asks.

His knife is laying on the ground next to him again due to his lack of ability to sheath it anywhere in his clothes. In a moment of inspiration, he removes one of the batteries from one of the two flashlights he had been carrying so that a backup fully charged battery would be available to duplicate later.

Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Rorchev walks outside of the building passing the boy again as he made his way out of the door, and looked upward. Positioning himself below a window to the second floor Rorschev places his hands on the wall of the building, and removes a small divet. Rorschev repeats the process with his other hand and begins climbing the side of the building using the divots. If nothing distracting happens he stops just below the window and peers in.

Looks to be a bathroom. Toilet, sink, bathtub/shower. Medicine cabinet above the sink.

The sink seems to be covered in woman's health supplies, and the clothes laying on the floor are unmistakeably female.

Checks the clothes for signs of age from the window, mildew dust, anything.
