So, the game's planning is still underway. Though, we're going to need renewed efforts, from as many users as we can bring aboard. Not just for creating a game, but branching out, in general, for the sake of bringing in some money to the main site, and some publicity to both the main site and the forum. Hopefully, our posts on the new upcoming SPL YouTube channel will be successful enough to draw a decent crowd of people, thus enhancing our audience, and drawing in revenue for the site, and eventually, enhancements to the game as well, which will also bring in more money, as it's made available to the public via the Forum.

No problem at all. I actually had forgotten all about this thread, but then I went looking through the Forum to make sure no other duplicate threads existed, and so I recovered this beauty.

Basically, if everybody isn't on Facebook all at the same time, this is the best place to leave a message, so that things don't get lost in the flood of messages that sometimes happen on our FB chats.

So, a couple orders of business on the table:

-Does everybody have in mind, a role that they would like to take up on the upcoming YouTube channel (if anything at all)? Reviewing various books

-Gatsby's about to start his reviews! Yay!

-ElRigo is within the first phases of helping to realize the site's dream of a superpowered game! Yay, times two!

-We need to get hold of some of the folks who don't have connections to us on Facebook, so we can get them up to speed on our efforts outside of the Forum.

So what is this about a game and what actual plans do we have?

As for a Youtube channel, I don't think I'd be up for contributing much at the moment. If we all wanted to get together on Skype/Roll20 for some Rp games and record it, I might be up for it though.

You contribute what you can; that was my point. I'm not trying to force anybody to do anything. Literally, you can record yourself playing Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., Super Smash Bros., WoW, D&D, Runescape, whatever you want.

Like, literally, if one of you ends up doing a D&D thing with friends, and you dress up for it, we would be more than happy to get your narration, and the die-rolling, and the gameplay.

Or give reviews or speculations about various different shows/movies/books/comics/anime/manga/games, etc. It's really up to you.

As for the actual plans, El Rigo is trying to come up with a game. So, feel free to ask him any details about what specifics are going into it. Until he gives me reason to think otherwise, I believe he's going to be creating a game for the Forum.

The game as Rigo Envisions it!

So I wanted to share my ideas with you guys, get some feedback and your ideas, and see how this whole thing turns out.

The game as I see it is an old school beat em up. If you remember the now ancient Ninja turtles arcade games, the Xmen arcade game, the one with The Simpsons or more recently the scott pilgrim one (that was its own microcosmos of nostalgia and awesome) that is kinda how I want our game to feel. So of course it should be cooperative. Even over the internet if I can manage that.

Now, the number of characters largely will depend on how many users want to have a character made. Remember, the game will be very action oriented, so having a superpower like "Able to see the future" or stuff like that is gonna be tricky to implement.

I am thinking 4 players at the same time as maximum. And loads and loads of bad guys.

More ideas as I make them. Also, comments?

Okay, so I'm here talking with my friend, and he inspired me with another idea which could potentially make for a more fun gaming experience.

I like the idea of a max-four-player beat-em-up game. But how difficult do you think it would be, to have both a regular story mode, and an arena mode, where it's basically a much more basic, much flimsier version of Mortal Kombat?
