One of us is already the leader of the free world, we've slowly been making footholds since it was common practice to kill us from birth, now it's only a matter of time.

When one of you is pope, then I'll believe it.

Eventually, but at the moment it would probably be easier to appoint a black grand dragon.

It'd have to be somebody high in power.

Barack Obama, with Colin Powell as second-in-command?

You'd have a better chance with the biblical seven-headed dragon.

People already thing Obama's the antichrist, which never fails to get a laugh.

Ya never know just how easy a bad guy might take over the world.

I mean, think how many girls love Loki, despite the fact that he's a villain. Just imagine a real person with powers like that; better looking than Tom Hiddleston (!), who actually inserted himself into politics, with an ingenious way of making politics fun and exciting and convincing to the common folk, showing passion and being a tad flirtatious, but able to argue with the best of them. Calm, cool, collected, charismatic, cunning...and clever like a fox.

Not to mention, totally Roman in his ideals, taking not one particular side in a debate, but the best of all sides. And capable of subtly twisting the truth to suit his whim, like nobody's business. Underhandedly convincing folks to do the most heinous things, all while thinking that they're doing what's right. And none of it easily traceable back to him.

I've had a couple characters like that. Scary stuff to think of.

Eh, good and evil is pretty subjective in the first place, and stop using me as a template for your descriptions of the antichrist.

heh, joking. Basically anyone whose even slightly charismatic or who simply is in a place of power can be accused of being the antichrist these days, who you really have to worry about is the one carrying the mark of the beast, then again anyone with half a brain and a knowledge of Revelations would have just burned the thing of or covered it.

Yeah, I don't think you'd fall under that branch of Loki-esque evil. We laugh and joke, but when it all comes down to it, I have a fair amount of trust in each of you.

The frightening thing with the ACTUAL entity of the Antichrist, though, is many folks have never read the Book of Revelations, or just think it's a book of fairy tales. And the number of folks falling under that category will just grow as the world continues to get more and more secular.

*ahem* That's enough heavy stuff, though. On a lighter note, I've been considering the Atlanteans again. Especially if led by the likes of DC's Aquaman or Marvel's Namor the Sub-Mariner, they would be a formidable force against a bunch of mere humans.

...Eh, I doubt it. Considering that they already messed up enough that their entire continent sunk to the bottom of the ocean either killing so many of them that their accomplishments became myth, or secluding them so much from the world that the same happened, the odds are that after the cataclysm they had a kind of anti technology/magic approach among the populous that approached religious fever leading to a Utopian Amish society beneath the ocean.

Which makes Disney the little mermaid make sense. Basically it's a world where anything technological is abhorred and destroyed, every menial task is controlled by animal slaves, every tool is just the skeleton of said animal slave or living animal slave, and only the royal family has access to magic "given that in the original draft Ursula was the king's sister" which they use to enforce this law lest their world fall into destruction.

Heck even the movie Disney movie Atlantis basically said the same thing.

 Yeesh.

I much prefer the modern fantasy version, in which they survive and thrive.

Then again, the Greek myths never do say that explicitly. So...

So, instead of the Atlanteans, what about the Warmongers, the creatures who descend from this guy?

Note: I've mentioned him before, but he's been reworked into something more coherent. So, if you find contradicting information within the Forum somewhere about him, take this latest info. I was feeling particularly mythical, so this is definitely the new and improved.

Your comment about legal battles on that thread reminded me how everyone seems to be using a certain half black half white motif for their demonic or spiritual creatures these days that just happens to be split directly down the middle of the face.

yeah it would be interesting to see them try to take over, but I think people aren't giving humans enough credit, we haven't really had to fight a species similar to us in a long time but we used to be MONSTERS.

That airplane thing isn't an exaggeration, you can look that up in the Guinness book of World Records. Michel Lotito, number of airplanes eaten: 1.

I was going to list a bunch of things from the bible like tower building, the first murder, slaying Nephilim which implies breeding with angels made us weaker, and Jacob wrestling god into a tap out/'forced to magically dislocate hip bone." but I'm glad something made me wait because that post was worth it.

But yeah, used to. Seriously you know all of those stories about super beserkers on cracked, like the guy who killed 30 armed men with nothing but a knife, or the American soldier who broke his legs landing in enemy territory and told his platoon to leav him behind with a gun with nine rounds, and was later found dead from blood loss surrounded by nine enemy corpses.

I have a theory that in the past those people would have just been considered Joe Everyman surviving through an average Tuesday.

I'm beginning to think humans were originally intended as a weapon, if we hadn't been tricked by a snake we would have ended up eating the  tree of life's fruit, and would have been immortal Amoral killing machines.

http://www.cracked.com/article_20367_5-insane-true-stories-that-prove-humans-can-survive-anything.html

and here's a bunch of stories depicting our apparent durability and freaking insanity/omnivourasity. We're worse than orks, we are the thing that ork's check underneath their bed's for every night lest we steal every thing that's not nailed down including their women, eat their pets, and burn down their house.

Nah. Human beings haven't changed all that much in the time we've been around, either physically or mentally. If you want proof, look up the graffiti written on the walls of Pompeii.

Pompeii wrote
I.7.8 (bar; left of the door); 8162: We two dear men, friends forever, were here.  If you want to know our names, they are Gaius and Aulus.
That's "I love you man" scrawled in Latin on a wall.
