That book was amusing.
It's something of a parody of the "Girl dresses up as a guy to join the army" story. Guess which one of these is a girl.  Other amusing quotes:

There's also Butler from the Artemis Fowl series..
He beat a Troll into unconsciousness with his bare hands. The fact that he's about six feet tall and build like a tank probably helps. He's the main character's body guard.  There's also his sister. She likes wrestling shows and probably knows fifty or so ways to break you in half.
