Right now, I have and idea for a complicated Ocean Goddess, Some vauge ideas about a Sun God and one about a shy Moon Goddess..
The Ocean Goddess isn't just one being.
There are several goddesses over various aspects of the ocean.
When they really need to, they meld together to form the Ocean Goddess.
So she's more of a Gestalt Mind than anything else.
I would love some help thinking of aspects of the ocean to cover.
So far I have...
The Deep Mother (Goddess of the Deep Abyss of the ocean)
She is a mysterious and rarely seen being. Her presence is mainly know through a voice calling from the dark deeps, or from the monstrous beings that dwell there. All manner of sea monsters are her children. And may the heavens help you if you harm them.
The Empress (Goddess of fish)
The fish call her Empress, hence the name. Unlike the Deep Mother, she is a bright and well known being. The Empress looks like a somewhat fishy woman, dressed in kelp and fish scales and adorned with coral. Among the Seafolk (The people of the Ocean Goddess. The aspects share them), she is a very popular goddess.
The Singer (Goddess of aquatic mammals)
The Singer loves whales. All sea mammals in general, but whales especially. The songs they sing entrance her and she is often found in their form. As far as the goddesses go, she is the most stable and neutral. Beware though of her temper, you may find that her Seafolk followers will lure you into the deeps with songs from their goddess.
The Seafolk are the people of the ocean. I'll write up their stats later, but for now they can survive well enough underwater, though they often differ depending on what goddess their tribe/clan serves.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”
