The Kethencian College of Magic RP (Part 2)

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Again the spider is hollow and after a few seconds it shrinks into another bundle of sticks tied with hair. This time however, a very faint shimmer in the air is seen escaping from the opened spider.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

Billy leans against a wall and applies one hand vigorously to his forehead.

"Fake. Fake spiders. Transmogrification? Wooden soldiers. Dolls."

Billy gets up and approaches the third body with his saw.

"Everyone saw that strange shimmer the last time, right? Mr. Zaubar, did it look like the one that came out of the queen? Although, I suppose we can't call her that anymore. After all, these things didn't come from her."

[Philote]

"Yes, I would say it is similar to the one that came from the queen, but on a smaller scale. Most likely a weaker version of the same spell, though I've never seen magic like this."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Do you think you could trap it in a shield as it files out?"

[Philote]

"I guess it is worth a shot. I'll put a dome around the spider as soon as you make it turn back into sticks."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Right. Ready? NOW!" Billy doesn't even try to be gentle this time and tears at it with the saw.

[Philote]

A dome of light forms over the spider as Billy pulls his hands away.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

The same shimmer escapes the spider and is trapped by the light dome. However, it is near impossible to see as it is so faint.

[Philote]

"Ok, what do we do now Billy?"

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

'Hmmmmmm. You know, I honestly hadn't thought that far ahead. Um... hmm... uh...  Oh! Do you think that you can keep the shield going long enough to show the headmaster? Can you move with it, or does someone have to find and get him?"

[Philote]

"I can try, but he will have to come here. I haven't learned how to move the shield yet."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

Billy thought for a moment, wondering exactly how you could contact the headmaster. Surly you couldn't just call for him, and Billy didn't know how long Zaubar could keep the shield going. Then he had an idea. An awful Idea.

"Mr. Ashgrove, could you go out into the hall and wreak some havoc for me? You know, draw the Headmaster out?"

[Philote]

I take a seat and concentrate on the shield. I've had practice controlling my mana supply before, but I had never experiment on how long I could maintain a shield with nothing trying to break through it. I consider using less mana on the shield, but think better of it in case the light manages to phase through.

I hear some commotion outside as Eric gets to work trying to gain the headmaster's attention. It probably was not the best plan, but I was too busy to think of anything else.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

Billy listen to the explosions sounding off like signal flares in the hall.

"Oh, I hope he doesn't break anything expensive. I don't think this plan was such a good idea. But it's not like we can just call his name from the roof. We don't even know his name. Still, I suppose I'll have to take responsibility."

Billy Walks over to one of the stick dolls and picks it up.

"Why did then not change like this while we were fighting them in the halls? I know I got goo on me, some of it splashed into my mouth. Maybe the spell is only just wearing off now? Or..."

Billy moves to the door and opens it a crack, taking a peek outside.

"Or we are being toyed with."

Professor Karth lounged lazily in his office. Suddenly a small imp appeared with a message. One Eric Ashgrove was causing mischieve in the halls.

"Ugh, not this again. No time to tell the headmaster, I'll deal with it myself"

With a sigh Professor Karth got up and walked briskly down to the Death Wing.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

Someone is coming. It's not the headmaster. Who could it... oh. Ohhhhhhhh.

The thought ran through Billy's head in a split second. He knew what he had to do.

"Mr. Zaubar, no matter what you hear, maintain the shield. Mr. Tiberius, protect Mr. Zaubar. I'll try and buy you time until the headmaster arrives!"

Suddenly, the door to the morgue came slamming open and Billy came charging out, clutching something under his arm and screaming.

"Hello schemer! Forget something?" Billy cried, as he hucked the thing in his arms at the newcomer. It was the forth spider carcass.

Of all the strange things Professor Karth had encountered in his years of being the College's Head of Teachers, he had never encountered a flying Spider carcass.

As Billy's improvised projectile hit Professor Karth it knocked him over. Professor Karth was bowled over and landed with a look of suprise on his face.

After catching his breath he became furious.

"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS OUTBURST?"

[The Junkyard Cat]

Inside the morgue Samuel hears the professor's voice piercing his ears. "Whatever he did not sure it was a good idea."

Somehwere in the back of the Death wing Bones wakes up from his nap.

"Now what's all that commotion out there?"

Bones gets up to investigate.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Don't give me that! Did you enjoy watching the confusion on our faces when your spider's turned out to be sticks, huh!? Well, I won't let you silence us. This information has to get to the Headmaster, and I will lay down my life to protect it!"

Billy is all fired up. He strikes a fighting pose that tells everyone who sees it that he has never been in a fistfight in his life.
