Well, I was going to say "Powers like unto the MythPowers", but I thought you would have figured that answer out by now...

I was just wondering what generic powers would fit each one.

Well, that depends.

Sorry. I tried, but I don't think I can come up with just a few...I have too many in mind to list in a short period.

Hence my proposition for others to play. So you guys could come along with your own interpretation of what powers you think they should have.

I mean a few are obvious, like Zeus and Aphrodite. But some have MANY domains, some of which not even known to the average myth buff (did you know Apollo was also the patron of the protection of children, or that Hecate, along with necromancy, witchcraft, ghosts and crossroads, was also goddess of the dark side of the moon?)

It could take forever for my mind to separate capabilities that everyone could agree on. So many good choices. So little time.

Zeus:  Weather Control is the most obvious one. It has to be something with lighting bolts.

Hera: This is more difficult. Unlike the others, she doesn't have a domain that easily translates into a power. Based on some of the myths, I'd say a power that gives you influence over others. Maybe Enhanced Persuasion.

Poseidon: The easy thing to do here would be Hydrokinesis or Water Empathy. However, that doesn't really cover all of what he can do. Perhaps a form of hydrokinesis that only works on salt water? Ocean Manipulation.

Dionysus: An Empathic Aura that produces escatic or frenzied feelings as desired?

Apollo: Ehh...  He does have alot of domains, doesn't he? I have no idea.

Artemis: This is actually easier. I would just say Superhuman Agility/Dexterity. Enhanced physical parameters tie in with her hunting.

Hermes: Superhuman Speed. What else?

Athena: Superhuman Sapience or Superhuman Intellect. Both are fitting for different reasons.  
 
Ares: Empatheticaly Enhanced Superhuman Strength. Anger only makes him stronger.

Aphrodite: Subliminal Sexuality or Pheromone Production . That fits.

Hephaestus: Godlike Craftsmanship? A slightly more generic one would be Superhuman Ingenuity

Demeter: Plant Control/Growth perhaps emphatically based.

Yeah, I thought of those. They would likely be best if the hero only took on one ability.

Though my power imagination skills often come in groups...

I just read about Grigori Rasputin.

Poisoned, Shot four times, beat up with clubs, and then tied up and dumped in a river.

What killed him? Hypothermia.

He was a Russian mystic who treated the russian emperor's hemophiliac son.

During the years of World War I, Rasputin's increasing drunkenness, sexual promiscuity and willingness to accept bribes (in return for helping petitioners who flocked to his apartment), as well as his efforts to have his critics dismissed from their posts, made him appear increasingly cynical.

Oh and he tried to strangle the guy who shot him first.

Imagine being that guy. You poison someone, then shoot them. You think they're dead... Then they pop up and start trying to strangle you.

For that kind of effect, you might have to consider DRUGS...

Sounds like a WWII version of a crackhead to me.

And crackheads in ANY time period are some scary business.
