Shadow, I have to call you out on the "Respect" thing.

Because I don't find the attacking of an entire religion very "Respectful"

As for the Jains, they can keep their impossible goal of totally avoiding violence, and they're all the better for it. Good luck with the whole "Never inhale those poor, sweet innocent bacteria" thing. And so, what do they do when their bodies become ill, infested with bacteria? Live with the bacteria inside them, until they die? Bacteria are living, too, and you did say "no matter how miniscule". And unborn babies, at the moment of conception. "Zygotes are people, too!" They'd never get abortions, even in the cases of incest, or rape, or simple unpreparedness. And I'm sure they can't totally avoid squishing bugs. It's almost laughable to think that their belief is based SOLELY on non-violence. Existence is much wider than that aspect. Simply because you aren't violent doesn't make you a good person. Many people can do others harm simply by their words. So what, they never get into arguments, either? Impossible...

That's very respectful, just like it's so nice that you made an effort to be polite and nice, just like I did for you.

(In case you didn't notice, I'm not angry at your God anymore, now It's you I'm annoyed with. I consider God to be a pretty nice entity, now.)

As for your response, kinda sucks that you respond to THIS before you respond to my email. Mmkay, I see. This isn't going to end well. If you want to amplify my comments about Jainism, then go ahead. I won't even bother. You fail to realize that the only reason I was commenting on them was because you were saying their beliefs were somehow better than MINE. But I suppose if this is your revenge for trying to extend an olive branch, then good luck with that. Fine by me.

I suppose your attack of Christianity was somehow warranted, but my satire of Jainism was not. Please. You directly ATTACKED my beliefs, insulted "my" God, and then have the audacity to to defend ANOTHER religion (which you don't even SUBSCRIBE TO, by the way) as a means to FURTHER attack my beliefs. And, while there probably aren't many Jains on this site, you have at least ONE that you've already offended. The only reason I brought up Jainism was to clairfy what I meant by "The peaceful Ahimsa concept of many Indian religions", I didn't think many people here would have a good idea of what I meant. So I looked up the most dramatic example of a nonviolent religion.

The only reason I'm mad is because, from my point of view, you got all P.O-ed out of no where and responded in a rather... aggressive way to my other post.

I didn't expect anything like that from you, Honestly I thought you were a little better than that.

And anyways that response was only made because of your comments. You DID bring that up as a counter to my own religious beliefs, whereas Agnosticism isn't a religion. The same sentimental connection can't be derived, therefore it was introduced for no reason. Neither of us even subscribe to it, so...it was brought up just to counteract me, and served no other purpose in our debate.

Strange your apologies never come across apologetic.

What you believe in, shocking as it may come across to you, was NEVER my concern; not even briefly. I only brought it up even once because of what you said in the email.

Again, you fail to realize that our argument never came because you don't "automatically believe the exact same thing I do"; it came because I gave my knowledge about Omnipotence, and how it was linked to my beliefs, and you felt it necessary to disparage the simple MENTION of the name of Jesus.

I didn't say something extreme like "ALL YOU UNWORTHY HEATHENS, TURN TO GOD, OR BURN IN HELL!!!"; I only momentarily mentioned details of my beliefs (that I believe that God is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent). And yet you couldn't even let me get away with THAT, without attacking what I believe in, and questioning me as though hoping to find some shortcoming to further disparage God. You spoke against God, and when you realized that didn't work enough to rile me up, you directly starting speaking against ME, as though offending my BELIEFS wasn't enough.

I didn't get PO'ed for NOTHING, you said something PO-worthy, and continue to do so even now. Don't just throw out some pseudo-well-intentioned statement, and then try to end the argument. If that's your way of getting the last word, it's not well-veiled. So I'll end it with THIS:

"I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ. I am Christian, but my intention is NOT to try to convince anyone here to believe what I believe. When I MENTION Jesus in the forums at all, I am not mentioning Him as any propaganda for what I believe, and anything I say should not be taken as such. If it IS taken as such, it will end in an argument like this EVERYTIME, because mentioning Jesus is not the cue for atheists, Agnostics, Satanists or WHOEVER ELSE to start taking shots at Christianity or any other religious beliefs, especially not for personal reasons. It is unwarranted, unnecessary and unwelcome. If it comes, I will be unrelenting. I am not saying that anyone here is religiously intolerant, nor am I saying that any one religion or belief system is better than another; however, they deserve to be respected. This much is not only required, it is expected."

Take this as a rant if you like, but I take it as standing up against anti-God people who can't even stand the MENTION of God in an otherwise religiously tolerant environment. Nobody had any problem with Jainism being mentioned, or Jester citing Catholic exorcism rites (both of which are JUST FINE AND DANDY); but I even mention Jesus once, as part of a religion I actually hold dear to my heart, and that is jumped upon like a horrible threat that must be extinguished. So there.

Keep your apologies, I don't want anything from you, and I certainly don't NEED it. Just remember that YOU started this whole debate, not me. I mentioned God, you felt the need to overreact and respond to it like I was recruiting people for the Naizs or something, and posting disparaging Anti-Christian materials to try to challenge my beliefs. If you had just seen that I was merely providing an example (like you ending up doing YOURSELF by posting information on the Ahimsa), we would never have gotten into this debate in the first place.

With that, I refuse to answer further on this subject, unless the sheer brazenness of your anti-God, anti-me tirade hinders me from doing so.
