If you used that theory could you come to an assumption that an intensly concentrated point of gravity could create a hole in space time, thus bridging two areas or dimensions?

Yeah, definitely, it'd be more than possible. In fact, I kinda proposed that theory on THIS web site...http://theories.activatingevolution.org/swiki/wiki/index.php/Dimensional_Travel

I'm surprised that you guy's pass the word materialization powers.

they just seem incredibly powerful...
Like what if someone said, I want a black hole generator, or I want a self contained supernova located exactly three feet in front of me that only affects a surrounding area of four inches.

Or for the ones that directly turn words into their effects. What if they used the ability on the word apocalypse,

hopefully limits will be imposed on these abilities in the future so they aren't TOO powerful.

No power is infallible except for omnipotence
DC has Zatanna which can do any effect---no limits have been stated yet--by saying it verbally backwards. She has been beaten by people, even ones without powers, that aim for her throat or knock her out and gag her, so yes it is incredibly powerful but it is not invincible. Also I am pretty sure there is a power that gives silence somewhere on this list that can counter that power and if there isn't then I will personally make one. |
omnipotence is not infallable, mainly because most of the people wo have it have incredibly huge egos, you could probably trick them into self terminating.

Agreed given a person's character flaws no power is infallible.

Omnipotence...grrr...
But anyways, I don't agree. Omnipotence is automatically accompanied by Omniscience and Omnipresence, therefore it IS infallible. Entirely, and completely. Any manifestation of "Omnipotence" in fiction that leaves out Omniscience and Omnipresence is REALLY just powerful Reality Bending. Now, Reality Bending is fallible; THAT'S the power you guys are talking about. The two are similar but keep in mind Omnipotence is FAR more powerful.

but there are abilites that could counter the affects of omnipotence, like the cardstack abilities for example.

no, they counter REALITY BENDING. True Omnipotence has no limits. No bounds, no cons, no shortcomings and no counter.

The card stack ability jester creates a field of reality manipulation around oneself which counters all direct changes to reality that would concern the user, such as simply wishing them not to exist. The only way to force yourway through this defense is to strike through the the field of reality manipulation and attack the user directly with a physical or spiritual attack before they can counter, thus leaving yourself to be affected by said reality manipulation as well. The actual nature of this field of chaos is to in fact stop any type of direct omnipotent destruction.

there is one shortcomming. If someone has omnipotence they will most likely commit suicide...

Sorry. Omnipotence is called such for a reason. It is ALL-POWER. It can bypass the effects of Reality Bending, can bend reality beyond the capability of normal reality bending, can kill gods (god with a LOWER case g), can bypass ANY defense, and automatically bestows one with Omniscience, Omnipresence and the like. Therefore you would have an intrinsic understanding of the universe, life, death and reality (no strings attached), and would feel no desire to die, let alone kill yourself.
anything that doesn't meet these requirements, it doesn't matter, it's just reality bending.

So people stop going on about omnipotence why not just add it to the list already so that there is a reference for what exactly it can do, there is no BA at the moment for omnipotence on the list to matter, plus we could just add a banned powers section for the BA.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

OH! That is a good idea! A 'Restricted' or 'Banned Powers Section', made separate from the rest of the Superpowerlist, maybe? Hm. Intriguing, I'll get to Vespert or Justin and see what they think, and what they can do about it...

...by your definition of omnipotence it seems like anyone who has it would immediately stop having a soul as well as any personality or emotion to speak of...
