Roleplay IN SPACE!

This post was updated on .
This is from the "Superhuman/Supernatural/Paranormal Rants (or Props)" thread.

Basically, the plan is to use the GURPS system to make sci-fi characters for a futuristic roleplay.

Here are some racial templates for you to look at if you want.

=Aliens=

Blue Men

Cost: 70 Points.

Attribute Modifiers: ST -2 [-15]; DX +1 [10]; HT -1 [-10]: IQ +1 [20]

Size Mod:  -2

Advantages: Acute Vision +3 [6]; Extended Lifespan 4 [20]; High Technology (+1 TLs) [25]; Night Vision [10]; Telekinesis 4 (Psychokinetic -10% ) [18]; Absolute Timing [2];Reduced Consumption 2 [04]; Telesend (Telepathic, -10%) 27

Disadvantages: No Sense of Smell/Taste [-5]; Dependency (Uncommon:Native Atmosphere, Constantly, Mitigator -60%) [-30]; Unusual Biochemistry [-5]; Timesickness [-10]

Racial Skills
: Free Fall (DX/A) DX + 0 [2]; Machinist (IQ/A) IQ-1 [1]

The Dr'atkatins, sometimes referred to as "Blue Men", are one of the older spacefaring races. They came into contact with the humans soon after the creation of the lunar colonies and have been long standings of our species since that time. Blue Men are, as their name implies, blue skinned. They are shorter than humans, averaging at about three feet (Near one meter) in height and are generally more fragile looking. Because of their increased brain size, most blue men have a higher head to body ratio than humans. This coupled with their large and dark eyes can give them a rather disconcerting appearance.

Dra'tkatins are exceptionally long lived, require less food than their size would suggest and a clocklike sense of time. However, the most astounding ability they possess are the odd pisonic abilities they possess due to their unique brain structures. These abilities are uncommon in the known sentient species. All Blue Men have a degree of telekinesis, which they often employ to help them in domestic tasks, as well as the ability to speak telepathically. They show a great deal of aptitude for further psionic abilities, such as anti-psi and E.S.P.

Though one might think they are without problems, Blue Men do have issues with other atmospheres. For whatever reason, they may only breathe the specific blend of gases native to their home planet, and require special filter-breathers anywhere else. They also, oddly enough, have no sense of taste or smell, and their biochemistry differs from humans. Possibly related to their psionic abilities is an inability to use warp-gates or other such devices, when forced to they are often stunned senseless for days.

=Neri=

Cost: 105

Attributes:  DX +2 [20]; IQ +1 [20]

Size Mod: 4

Advantages: Double Jointed [15]; Semi-Aquatic[0]; Extra Arms 2 [20]; Extra Arms 6 (Short  -50%) [30]; Temperature Tolerance 2 [4]; Doesn't Breathe (Oxygen Storage x200 -20%) [18]; Detect (Electric Fields) [10]

Disadvantages: Chummy [-5]; Curious [-5]; Sense of Duty (Care Givers) [-10]; Unusual Biochemisty [-5]; Xenophilia

Racial Skills: Aquabatics (DX/H) DX-1 [2]

@Philote

Would the robot horse be intelligent, or just an automaton?

Nice name
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Automaton.

Are you asking these to get an idea of the point value?

Yes.

There's lots of little limits you can put on certain advantages to make them point cheaper.

Hence the asking about the visible telekinesis...

Yeah i figured invisible would cost more, but i think it will be worth it.

Maybe you could mention which one costs less for your next question.

I'm going with the Ally Advantage for your horse.

I can slap automation (Which is -85~ points) on it to reduce the point costs if would incur.

I think we like designing RPs more than actually RPing

Wait. Are you going by the stat system where it only costs one point to add something to a stat or where it costs slot to add on?

Well..

Automation does make it rather..  Uninnovative..

Basically, it would just stand there unless you told it to do something. It couldn't have an original idea if held at gun point.

The Ally thing gives you another being/creature/minion to have. The cost of it is based on what it's points are compared to yours.

Oh and here..

--------------------

This is the template for your character species.  The basic stats they have.

Little Blue Man

Cost: 75 Points.

Attribute Modifiers: ST -2 [-15]; DX +1 [10]; HT -1 [-10]: IQ +1 [20]

Advantages: Acute Vision +3 [6]; Extended
Lifespan 4 [20]; High Technology (+2 TLs) [50]; Night Vision [10]; Telekinesis 4 (Psychokinetic -10% ) [18]; Absolute Timing [2]

Disadvantages: No Sense of Smell/Taste [-5]; Dependency (Uncommon:Native Atmosphere, Constantly, Mitigator -60%) [-30]; Unusual Biochemistry [-5]

Racial Skills: Free Fall (DX/A) DX + 0 [2]; Machinist (IQ/A) IQ-1 [1]

Where did you find this?

Are we using the same system?

To me, it shows costs of 10 to 20 points for one point of various stats.
