Oh, hey, I have that site bookmarked! Or, um, at least the section on psionics, anyhow. Great idea, I'll give the rest of the info a look-see.

I had an idea for a game.
It's about a player versus player virtual reality fight-arena game with multiple strange races and wacky items. Each match, two of you would roll a few random numbers, then I'd send you details on what your abilities and equipment would be. Then you'd square off with the other person- who doesn't know what you are or what you can do. The rules are still fuzzy with me, but I'm thinking.

Another battle royale type deal? That could be fun.
To be honest, I think we have quite a few ideas we could make use of in the game section. I can think of a few, and I'll post them later.

I'm coming up with ideas for the thing I mentioned.
I'll post them later today, after I get done with the Zzz.

I have a very rough Idea for a game.
The PC's are different aspects of someones personality (Love, Fear, Pride, Hunger, Obsession, Generosity, etc. etc.) You start the game when the "Hardware" is born. I'm envisioning something like Lords of Creation except, instead of a world, it's a person.

Does anyone besides Zale have an opinion on these? @Zale/Vaul: Both those ideas sound interesting.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |
For One: I like the concept. It reminds me of Kid Radd. 2 things though;
1.If we are NPCs, then what are we doing something important like killing a king? That seems like something a PC would do. 2. If we were scripted to kill the king, why would the code break at that point? For Two: What would be the point of hacking your character if the GM is just going to patch it away?

1. In this world there would be no PCs, the Game Makers would be running things behind the scenes.
2. They were scripted to NOT kill the king, but they went against their script by doing so anyways thus resulting in the opening for the virus. 1. You could use the benefits of the hack until the GM shows up, achieving what you could not before, and if you're lucky and subtle enough, keep the hack for the future.

So, it's in Alpha, got it.
I'm assuming we'll find out how we went against our scripting, yes?

I was thinking that it was because our Willpower/Determination to overthrow the king led us to be able to overcome the scripting.
I'm open to a better suggestion though. I was thinking most of the RP would be after the event of killing the king.

Have you ever seen Small Soldiers? Wonderfully cheesy movie about killer action figures, Tommy Lee Jones feasts on the scenery in it. The whole plot comes about when the idiots in charge of making the toy's decide to put Military hardware into them to make them smart.
Or, lightning strikes the server and suddenly everything is sentient. Classic.

Yeah I really like that movie
I like how you're thinking about this, but I should be more clear with my original idea. This is not about a video game coming to life with the game makers outside trying to fix it, this is about a reality that has video game elements. Before the event, as far as this RPs reality is concerned, it is just a normal fantasy universe. Once the event occurs, reality begins to break down showing the elements working behind the scenes. The game makers aren't humans designing a world, but higher level beings that judge the world and keep it functioning according to their standards.

Like a medieval The Matrix?

Sort of, the fantasy part would still be considered "Real Life" as far as the reality is concerned. The video game part is just the other side of the reality that was unseen before.

We need to start some roleplay now.

Kinda hard to do when nobody's on, or people are only on for a few minutes, or are never on at the same time, idnit?

Pick one.
I'll start it just for the sake of something happening.

Darned Generic fantasy roleplay, it has the most work put into it, it's over a year old, and everyone wants to play the freaking thing.
