I just read the pre-battle scene that Shadowulf wrote, and I am thunderstruck. Bringing Torres up again was a masterstroke; I'd rather forgotten about him. Does the phrase "Chekov's gun" mean anything to you?

I have to admit, the phrase "Chekov's gun" would have had no meaning to me before I looked it up, lol....
I just thought that it'd be a nice touch because, first of all, I liked Torres and his "bend-space-time-like-a-rubber-plaything" powers (and I didn't want people to forget him). Second of all, I wanted to keep the theme of "just who the heck is this chick, and how much does she REALLY know???" It just seemed to fit in that part of the storyline... BTW: @667: I was also going to have a bit of a tender spot revealed after lunch/dinner, if that's okay with y'all...(hint: MEDIUM) @Wish: I have a question: is Jack getting ready to go off BY HIMSELF? I'm not thinking that's the best idea, if he is...

Shadowulf, I'm not going to let Jack leave by himself. I got this one.

So Caleb Trelaine is deader than dead. Well that also means that Tamara won't be back at any point either I guess.

To answer you the BEST way I can, consider this:
Tamara, from what I can tell, was a very powerful elemental, with the power to manipulate all the elements, including psychic energy. At the House of Trelaine, when she created the elemental sphere, this was only a fraction of her true elemental power (despite the fact that it was a big display VISUALLY). However, when she finally went into full elemental mode and told Trelaine that he wasn't going to exist, it was at this point that she had to render him into a state into which she could control him (and not just damage his physical body). Therefore, she used the psychic energy within the elemental sphere to literally strip away the Overlord's physical body, until nothing was left of him but his astral essence (psychic energy, which she can manipulate). And when this psychic energy was stripped of a physical body, nothing was keeping it from being manipulated to Tamara's will (which, in this case, meant sending him to the most desolate reaches of the Spirit Plane as was possible for her capacity; the closest he can come to actually NOT existing). However, in the process, the psychic energy she released to destroy CALEB'S body, also killed HER OWN physical body (but fortunately, her own body was not jetted off to the same reaches as the Overlord, meaning that she can still be contacted by mediums and means like Astral Projection, but CALEB can't be contacted by anything short of the MOST powerful psychics or mages...and only when they're at full capacity) So there...hope that explains things for you...hope it wasn't too quantum-physical for anybody else who reads this...

I'm not the kind of guy who needs an exact explanation for something that powerful and symbolic. I just wrote it so it'd represent the depth and breadth of her victory over Trelaine, and the intensity with which he was desposed. But if you want to science it up a little, I'm fine with that.

yeah, I know...I didn't want to undermine the sheer power by which Tamara got rid of Trelaine and brought down his empire. In all honesty, I just wanted to put a good "mediumistic" scene in there (as you can tell, I'm fairly fond of my character Cookie), and I figured it could be nice to hear from Tamara again...so, that's it for that

latest addition, very nice. Jack surrounded by assassins, with nowhere to go but along a train. What happens next? OOOH, suspense. I like it.

...for some reason I now want to create my character and have a fight against Tamara... which may completely destroy the surrounding area and mutilate anyone who get's caught up in it.......sounds like fun, too bad she's gone for the time being, but there's still a possibility she could be brought back later. I need to get started on the story excerpt for the example you asked for.

sadly, Tamara's dead (RIP Tammi), so it can't be admitted into canon for the RP, but you CAN use it for your example, so go for it!

nah, for the example I was just going to have him infiltrate a mob organization whose boss was using an anomaly core to turn the town's people into souless super powered monsters, but thanks for the permission.
BTW: is it alright if he uses the jack of all trades master of none capability of the jester spirit, which techniqally falls underneath self reality manipulation.

Long as it doesn't go overboard...I guess it's okay

by the way if I do get into the thread may I have permission to put Byne through a living hell for at least two days...for obvious reasons considering his regenerative ability, he could be the perfect shield.

not my call...I think he's 667's character.

fair enough but what do you mean by overboard. Judging by the level of powers seen so far I can't really tell where the line is. Or do you just mean that it can't get to the point where you have to super powered demons duking it out and inadvertently destroying half a country.
