Re: Offical RP thread.

Right. I've got a talent for writing characters 'in character' for whatever reason, and a storytelling ability to boot. So Shadowulf, spydyr, and the rest of the guys kinda sit back when they want to. But that doesn't mean that they can't write--Shadowulf in particular has an ability to create plot twists, and Wish's sections always remind me of the simplicity of a Bond movie. New voices are welcome too--if you've got basic grammar skills.

As a matter of fact, I need a fight scene right about now.

honestly though I don't know if I'm any good at writing so I don't know if I'll be able to write in character for your creations, but I do have some experience with basic plot twists, fight scenes, and communication. Btw You said that you guys make plans, where are these plans, and if a current plan doesn't fit with the creator's idea for that character can you comment on it and hope for a change.
Welcome one and All to the Jesters Carnival, where the prizes are greater than your wildest dreams, but the nightmares here shall silence you before you can even scream.

The plans are invisible, intangible because we kinda just keep 'em in our heads. But we let each other know about 'em as soon as we get 'em. And if plans clash, we of course discuss it, weighing which plans seem better, or more fun for the plot, or more realistic. More than likely, a compromise can be reached.

Other than that, I hope you can at least try to write in character for us, because we'll try to do it for you, if your character DOES make an appearance. Other than that, I believe you on your skills and such, and hope that you get to contribute. But if not, please don't hold it against us...

Re: Offical RP thread.

Wish
A little bit of a hasty retreat but at least it was believable.

But one thing kind of threw me off. There was no motive for Marina to go after them.

If I get the next post, can I establish a motive?

I'm thinking that our little shapeshifter Ansel Cedric isn't quite dead. It would be pretty easy for him to impersonate Jack and attack Marina's gang.

Also, I think that Wayne should be put in a bus for a while before coming back later in the story---he needs some time away from the story.

Oh, and Archer is going to require payment from "Greg"

Why would Ansel risk his own skin like that?

If Ansel Cedric was impersonating Jack, then how did he know about Jack and friends' visit with Cookie Davis? And what would YOU suggest would be the reason why Marina's gang would be looking for Jack in the first place? I figured I'd leave that up to someone else. Any ideas? Feel free to establish a motive, I can't wait to see what you come up with...

As for Wayne, it's up to you where he goes, so long as he doesn't die. He's your character, right? But, if he does get time off, what's the reason? Why do you think he needs a "story break"?

Hmmm......maybe revenge. I mean he was dumped off a train. I don't know if he knows about Damien or not but logically if he did not know about him then Jack is the one he would get revenge on because if he gets in trouble then the whole group likely will.

but...get revenge how? Getting caught by Marina and the others? It still doesn't explain why they're pursuing him in the first place...maybe you should email 667...or maybe I will...

Re: Offical RP thread.

I got this, I got this! I know the answer--all both of them.

Ansel Cedric is not dead, you're absolutely correct. So long as his cells remain intact, it doesn't matter if he's pulped to a jelly--the man will return. But this isn't so much about him as it is about the folks he works for.

The US government has lost a lot of explicit power, true, but connections formed over 200 years don't just fade. At one point, the information that they have on gangs and illicit activity might have been used to shut the parties in question down, but now gangs like Marina's can--though it is rather uncommon--by a disguised agent of the government to take down a target that the USA can't just unload on.

Now, this doesn't have to come out in the story. All that really needs to be said is that a man/woman approached Marina's gang (Jolyne, Ansel, the Diabetic, any of those merry folk) and offered a princely sum--though not exorbiant--to take down Jack.

==ALTERNATELY==

It was one of the more proactive Overlords who offered the money. Your neighbor gets taken down by a crack squad, you don't just let those dangerous revolutionaries live. This could be used to introduce who I feel is the most intelligent and sinister Overlords--and the man who I want to face last--the Controller.

Meh...I was just asking; if it's too much trouble, somebody else can do it. I just wasn't sure if you already had something else planned for where the story was going. What did you think of my last addition?

Glad to hear it (the approving of the RP part, not the having to read it from a cell phone part); but it's been creeping along as of late; 667's busy, and I'm not quite sure what to add to keep things going. Wish is still helping, but that's about it. So, yeah...

Put Jack and Archer in such a dangerous situation that Cookie picks up on it, and they have to make the decision whether to follow him or not (they do, but make a big deal out of it). Torres comes in randomly, but connected in some way to Cookie's ability, and they warp to the crisis.

Please?

Hmmm...

There's something I want to suggest...

If you don't want to know, just skip between the lines.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not so much what you asked for, but more of an explanatory thing.

Simply put, Ansel survived (Dur ) and decided to try something slightly more... subtle. He paid the merc's to capture Jack, not to kill him, but for a slightly more convoluted plan.

The idea was for the mercs to pretend that they were working directly for the government, offering to trade Jack for Fitz. The heroes would more likely than not try to fight for him once they were at the meeting place, the mercs would be "overwhelmed" and retreat; Jack would be saved...

Except...

It wouldn't be him, exactly. Ansel would be impersonating him, using training, experience and skill, he would have tried to fool them into not noticing. Using training to fake Jacks mental "feel", as well as acting exactly like him. Powers be easy to him to fake, and his ability would let him disguise the discrepancy of his powers to Fitz. After a day or so, he would have lured Fitz into being alone with him somehow, and kidnap him.

Meanwhile, the mercs would have been making trouble to distract our heroes. They would even make an attempt to fake kidnapping Fitz, then run in the opposite direction of Ansel; Throwing them off his trail.

Of course, Jack getting away more or less ruins the plan...

Unless anyone feels like getting him kidnapped.

However, because the heroes are... well.. heroes, they'd probably stop the plot and save him.. Kinda boring but, hey.

Or they might not discover it until he was already a good distance away. This would offer a more immediate goal to pursue.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Or whatever. My muse decided to drink several gallons of coffee, so she's bouncing around my head..

Re: Offical RP thread.

Wish
Convoluted scheme is good.

This was my plan though, Ansel would distract Jack and crew with the mercs. Then Fitz get kidnapped during the fight while they are distracted.

They try to find Fitz but can't find him. Then they get the idea that Wayne can just make the whole town invisible to find him, but then they realize that he is missing too.

Then to piss off the gang, Jolyne shows up with a communicator with Ansel saying that they have Fitz and if they come any closer to their operation Fitz life is forfeit and reveal that Wayne was picked up as well for testing, much to the horror of Jack.
