I have made powers simply for me to obtain, heh.
The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence

I think we've all done it in the past...

Oh, yeah, you HAVE had other ideas in the past...maybe this isn't just a phase, after all...

Hey, don't discount yourself. Maybe if you just write/type your ideas up, you can criticize them like you help critique ours, and come up with a well-structured power.

See, this is what happens when you have no religion. Ya lose faith in yourself, too.

Quite the opposite, really.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

If you say so. And I guess the state of your emotions from our first email chat is proof of that.

The lack of self confidence was a result of religion.

Anyway, No religion-based arguments...

Things get nasty whenever we start to move towards that subject.

Whatever. All I'm saying is I'd be pretty bummed going through life thinking that my life was ONLY the result of a bunch of random chemical reactions, and that no good awaited me for my attempts to better myself and the world around me.

But sure, let's leave it at that...

Now who says I think that?

Agnostic, Not Atheist.

What does Agnostic mean, sorry if thats a dumb question.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Close enough. You sound closer to believing in us descending from monkeys than being created by a divine God.

And anyways, we said we'd drop it, right? After your closing comment (barring any insulting remarks on either of our behalf), let's.

"A person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as god, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable."

Not a dumb question at all, young friend (though you might not be much younger than me, being in high school...)

Anyways, Agnosticism is the belief that one cannot truly know that any god (with or without the capital G) does or does not exist. Basically, you live your life to the fullest, perhaps combining the beliefs of various religions to form your own philosophy, or just making up your own philosophy without regard to any religion at all.

In essence, asserting that they're reason for not adhering to any god (or God) or religion is because there's no way you can know of His/his/her/their presence or His/his/her/their absence.

It's supposedly a fail-safe in case one religion turns out to be wrong.

Hmm ok so that means you do believe that a god exists though?

That's kind of insulting.   "Close enough"

That's like me saying that you are "Close enough" when comparing you to.. say.. the Westboro Baptist Church.

Which I'm grateful you're not. Those people are more than a little fanatical.

Oh nevermind, I'd better shut up before I say something stupid..

Shadowulf, you're hardly the expert on such things...

Maybe a god exists.
