"Mmkay, so onward." I move forward a half-step, but then remember an earlier thought, "Oh, wait, weren't supposed to get some cake or pie from you little folks?"
I and the others smile at the thought, and wait for the diminutives to bring out the pastries. Their ACTUAL response, however, is less flattering a thought.
"What? Who told you you could have pie? Didn't you break one of our houses?"
I look at the stupid broken house.
"Um...yes."
"Then I think we're even. One of us lost our house, and two of you nearly died at the hands of the Grymiss and the Grynn, while WE'RE left with cleanup. I think that's more than a fair trade."
I groan...
