OHHH! Fooly Cooly! Liked it when I watched it. Hm. Should prolly rewatch it if I plan on making any powers based on it though.

The last powers that I've tried to submit that have both been rejected for being a "Combination of powers"
Yo-yo= basically the ability to manifest a Yo-yo which is the ultimate hypnotism devise and can absorb mass amounts of energy into itself increasing it's size to the size of an indestructable recking ball, or release the energy in a large explosion of energy concentrated in one direction. Name: Tooth Brush Of God Overview: The ability to use the ultimate tooth brush. Description: The ultimate tooth brush, one use and your mouth will never need another clean up again, your teeth will become ten times stronger, and your breath will allways be minty fresh. Also the toothbrush has the ability to release large amounts of all powerfull energy capable of wiping out entire armies at once, and can be used in close range combat as an energy sword, by creating a condenced beam of energy starting at it's bristles. Pros: Perpetual minty fresh breath and an everlasting healty mouth. Wipe out entire armies with the power of the ultimate tooth brush Tarter fighting energy sword activate. Cons: Never activate the sword ability while brushing your teeth... Ever... Just don't do it.

Same thing happened... I had a power called "Troll Physics" (Nothing to do with actual trolling, it's an internet meme, go ahead and google it) that if you could come up with some horrible mutilation of logic and science to do something normally impossible, then the power would give you the resources to make such a thing so.
For example, Fact: If you give someone money, they get richer. Give yourself money. Result: You are richer. Repeat until rich as desired. Enjoy your wealth. or, Shine a flashlight behind you. Since the light goes out backwards from you, it should push you forward at the speed of light. Now that you're going at light speed, jog a bit. Your running + the speed of light = faster than light. Enjoy time travel. or, Remove the phosphorous from your DNA. Drink a bunch of arsenic. The arsenic will enter your DNA, making you arsenic-based. Since you are now part of a newly-discovered branch of biology, you are more evolved. Because you are more evolved, you have superpowers. Enjoy them. You should get the idea. It was rejected because of Physics Rejector, Physics Distortion, and Logic Defying were on the site. While I don't deny that they're similar in concept, the difference between this and those three as that it's pretty much the point that you don't believe in what you're doing, and you have to come up with a plan that's full of it rather than just rejecting a law of physics (also, it does more than just physics). |
I agree there's a difference between rejecting the laws of physics to do the impossible and doing the impossible through coming up with a plan that's pure nonsense that sounds like it should work.

That power should have been approved, at least in my opinion.
Bow before your unimaginably powerful overlord!

Okay, I've got a weird idea that I want to see if anyone thinks there's any way it might work:
Private Power List The ability to make a list of powers you want, and get them Certain limits I'm thinking about: Obviously, no omniscience/omnipotence/omnipresence, but I'm also thinking a cap on the number. Another idea is that the list has to be a list that somebody else made. You get the powers the way you want them to be, or maybe the powers you desire (so basically getting to choose off a list somebody else made), but you can't actually have powers of your own. Or maybe it's a choice, so you can decide either: I want to write up my own list (where you need to be a bit specific about the power, and would have to rewrite any powers that the idea came from someone else in your own words, or from memory or something) or use something/pick from a list made entirely by someone else (but where you get the most favorable interpretations of the powers). Anyway, it's a one-time use power (maybe: use it again if all your powers are negated? I don't know, getting too powerful there). EDIT: Also, Jester, if I resubmit it, would you mind if I used what you said there in the overview? I like the ring of "The ability to do the impossible through nonsense plans that sound sensible" better than the original one. Assuming it fits. |
I don't mind if you resubmit your ability using my overview

Here it is so far:
Private Power List The ability to create (or find) a list of superpowers, and gain all of those powers There are two ways of doing this. First, you can write your own list. You have to write this list at the time you decide to use this power, and need to have written everything yourself. That is, if you use someone else's idea, you need to either remember their description or write a new one yourself. The second way is to find a list of powers from someone else, and gain those. In this case, you can pick and choose what to get, and it fits an interpretation you like, rather than the author's. Pros: Get all the powers you want Don't have to use it immediately, so you can take time preparing your perfect list Cons: You can not have the powers omnipotence, omniscience, or omnipresence on the list This is one-time use only, so if you left off a really good power, or something you need, outta luck *Trying to decide. Ideas: Upper limit on the number of powers, lose/can not gain other powers, or if you choose to write your own then the wording of the power can overtake your intent* *Or maybe no 'multi-powers' where you get a set of unrelated powers, like Paragon or something, you have to write out each individual power, and maybe have some constraint on your ability to write them, like having to fit the Power List format." Still seems overpowered to me. |

I don't really want to split them up, the point is that the items can do that. The yo yo is a tool of hypnosis that works by using the ambient energy, but it can redirect if for the other two affects. As for The Tooth Brush of god, It's first second cleans teeth, it's second setting produces an energy wave strong enough to wipe out armies, and the third setting creates a energy sword, it uses the same power for all three affects.

I origionaly got the idea when I heard that the ark of the covenant was also refferred to as god's foot stool, so I began wondering if god's foot stool could wipe out entire kingdoms what could god's tooth brush do. Then a voice in my head suddenly said, "My tooth brush can lay waste to entire armies and bring the greatest civiliazations to it's knees before it's might." So I just hung on to the idea,I lost the ingredients I wrot for it though...
Despite the insane ramblings my point is this. If god designed a tooth brush it would be the best toothbrush in known existence, and it would also be a weapon of mass destruction, like most things that come in contact with the divine, remember the spear of Ragnarok.

I suppose...not everything God makes is a weapon, or can even be used as a weapon.
