The faceless person paused, then nodded cautiously.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

The sounds die off.

As soon as you step onto the boulder, strange and harmonic sounds begin to flow from the falls.

"...Good," I snap my fingers and the section of ground swallows up the copy and the faceless one into an air pocket closing back over above them. The second copy, I allow to fall apart.

WHOYOUISMUSTFINDZALEHOWDOWHEREGO I emit to the person talking with Wulf.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

The noise seems to grow more clear and loud the longer you stay on the rock, though it dips in volume when you speak.

Inside the air pocket, the faceless person appears to be looking around curiously.
A section of the pavement reaches up to surround the Jester in a shell, leaving a bubble of air around him.

The words slow as they approach, almost fearfully, then reverse with speed.
They don't want to get anywhere near this person. "Hello."

"Ah, good you seem to know English" I say still curious about the effect that just occurred "So, can you answer my question?"

"Never heard of this 'English'. I just have a translation spell running."
"Now, for your question, I think I can just explain it to both of you at once." She glanced at both of them, "The only way out of here is with the owner of this place's permission. I can get you there, but she won't let me anywhere near her. So you have to go ask her. It would be nice if you asked permission for me to, but I won't hold it against you if you don't."

Music flows from the falls, singing voices and instruments making lovely melodies. The music grows louder and more rich, more vibrant with each second. Impressions of faces and moving bodies appear and disappear in the falls, in the water around the rocks.
As the composition reaches a climax, a female figure rises from the falls, parting it like a curtain. Towering over Marv, inhuman in expression and beauty, it becomes obvious she's the source of the sounds and music. The melody crescendos, and goes silent. The strange woman stares at Marv as if she expects some sort of response.

I imagine how awesome I would look as a topiary, and how funny it was that this verdant lady imagined herself a match for me, before dismissing the petty humor.
It was more important now to find a way out. "And, if you'd be so kind...how exactly do I go about finding this owner being...creature...thingy?"
“…Judge not what a man has done, but judge what he could have done if he was a different bloke altogether. For art thou a leper? And a leper can changeth his spots…” --Rudy Wade, Misfits (Series 4, Episode 8)

Quick question: Did a section of pavement outside of my control just swallow my copy and take it to a different airpocket than the faceless one with harmfull, or otherwise annoying intent.
If so: "Sentient City....lovely" I tap the edges of the shell and it decays as if experiencing a few hundred thousand years of weathering. I step out back into the air pocket. I coat the surrounding area in a quick blast of creation energy, coating it in a thick, white, rock like substance. "So, exactly what is this place. If not: Explanation needed and disregard previous section. |

The sun is blotted out, casting a long shadow over the colossus. There is an echoing crash as a anchor bigger than most houses slams into the planet, burying itself in the earth. If one looks closely, one can almost make out a figure free climbing down it.
As it gets closer to our viewpoint, it appears as a creature with two heads! As it makes it's way closer, it appears that this is not the case. As it jumps the last bit of the way, we can see that it is, in fact, an ape. It is a beast that would appear as though it were a bloodthirsty savage, murder oozing out of every orifice. White fur, a full jaw of teeth, obsidian claws. However, the effect is diminished because of it's immaculately tailored grey suit, it's old steel grey eyes, and the grey haired boy riding on his back wearing what looks to be the beasts hat. The boy carefully slides his way down, and they both make their way toward the colossus, the boy chattering. "See! See, Mr.V? I told you I saw something on the scope. Golly, look at it!" "I have been Sherman." the ape answers in a deep baritone. "I've been looking ever since you pointed it out." "What do you suppose it could be? A war robot? A guardian of some ancient civilization?" The ape stops. "Sherman, Sherman, Sherman. You think so small." The boy looks at him, raptly. The ape throws his arms wide, and smiles. "Why it could be a silicone based lifeform. Or a starship that crashed and achieved sentience, molding itself in that form over a millennium. It could be a grave marker, or a clock, or even an evil wizard!" "WOW! A WIZARD!" "Anything is possible in this glorious universe, Sherman. And it doesn't matter how many things we take, because the universe will always replace it with something just as interesting!" By now, they stand at the foot of the construct. The ape calls up. "I say, excuse me? Are you alive? The result of a wager rides on your answer."

I start wondering what I'm supposed to do here. Everything seems harmless maybe its best to be on my way and explore this place. So I stand up and walk in some direction.
My flame shines bright. Just make sure not to get burned by it.
