"Mmmm, there's always a way to counter things like that. Even then, what would be a way to counter this spell? Hmmmmm."

I lean back thinking.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

I take a seat.

"So....do you know how to find Zale?"

[Zaleramancer]

"Oh, yes. He walks down this Dream Path occasionally. You just have to do the same."

She offers Marv a cup of steaming tea.

"Sugar or milk?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Sugar please. So, I just have to follow this path?"

[Zaleramancer]

She plunks a cube of sugar into the tea.

"Well, you see, there are several things, like this, that one must do in order to progress to the next portion of the path."

A sip of tea later, she continues.

"If you don't do them, then you'll just keep walking and never get anywhere. If you hadn't stopped for tea, you'd have just walked in a circle back past here for awhile."

I take a quick sip of the tea before asking, "So, in other words trying to take the quickest route will cause you to take the biggest detours. Well, I'm very glad that I choose to stop for tea. This is quite a splendid cup of tea if I may say so."

[Zaleramancer]

"Thank you, good luck on your journey."

[Zaleramancer]

Suddenly, Wulf's extradimensional space collapsed, dumping him onto the charred ground.

A young woman with pale blonde hair and grey eyes stared down at him with the expression of a cross elementary school teacher.

[The Junkyard Cat]

I wait to see how it reacts. I keep still and try to comfort the small creature. "Don't worry little guy there is nothing to be afraid of."

[Zaleramancer]

Another creature, this one looking like a grey giraffe, meanders into the area. It prances in place and looks anxiously at Cabanilla. Something else small and glowing flickers around it, moving towards the large pale creature.

Out of the tree comes another fearful skinny simian creature. Both of them stare at each other with horror as something large and dark, lurks from behind the tree. It looks like a huge shadowy-frog, and stares at the grey giraffe.

 Hey, you there! With the face! What gives? I was gonna come out soon...once I realized that your feline friend was gone...

I sense all the creatures. Using my mask I feel for any hostile presence around me.

[Mik_Hael]

Sigh...

I use a combination of Queen, Ace, and Jack to scan the surrounding area for any signs of movement, conscious thought, unusual shapes, and blank spaces while I keep walking.

[Zaleramancer]

Several entities become apparent, walking along the street.

[Zaleramancer]

"You nearly burnt down the whole forest! AND ALMOST MURDERED SEVERAL PEOPLE."



All around her, the burnt plants were slowly becoming rejuvenated and alive. Green growth began to sprout upwards.

[Zaleramancer]

Nothing hostile seems to exist.

The glowing light, some kind of insect, lands on the large shadow-frog's head. The two simians continue to stare at each other in horror, while the pale creature settles down for a nap. The giraffe starts looking nervously at a tree.

 Well, now that I think of it, I could have gone about avoiding your stony feline friend differently.

 As a matter of fact, I'm so--

 HEY, WAITAMINUTE! Why the frack am I apologizing to you, Madame Strangeness? I do believe I was coming through this place peacefully, and that cat-golem rock-cat thing came after me first!

And I, um...put those burning plant-folks out.

[Zaleramancer]

Green growth spread from where she stood, repairing the damage both fire and feline had inflicted. Several plant-people filter in from the charred remains, some stumbling.

"The cats are there to keep people from wandering in and destroying everything with unauthorized powers. The owner doesn't care for that sort of thing."

She wandered over to the plant people, hands glowing slightly as she touched the wounded. They began to heal.

 Well...

Well, I'm not here to destroy anything.

I'm just looking for a way out. This place looks like it expands forever, and I'm not in the mood for an eternity of flying through some maze. I have subjects I need to get back to protecting, and a life I need to get back to living, and whatnot.

Strange so it seems nothing here is dangerous. Just terrified creatures maybe I should ask them to lead me to some path. Hmmmmm "Is there any kind of path I can follow little ones?"
