New Beginning 17: Souls of Intellect

[Marvelous Miscreant]

I enter the room again and calmly sit down. My quartz hand dettachs to grab some more food.

"Well, that was certainly a spectacle. I'm sure he'll be fine later."

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "Oh, fine. Chill, BUGS BUNNY."

My aura having gone back to normal, I snap my fingers, and the poor hug fairies return to life, cooled off but still steaming.

[Zaleramancer]

I pull a walky-talky out of the air.

"General, call off the anvil air strike."

[ParallelanPrincess]

"Sometimes. The older I got well....with age came responsibility. Once my training was over the gods said it was time to take on my role. That...was the last time we fought . I understand why he's ticked. Back in the day...well, let's just say I'm not the first Tyche and I came close to being the last. I better go calm him down. Sorry about your fairies." I rush to catch up with the Penultimate feeling a tad bit guilty. He was protective but he sure had a funny way of showing it.

"Who you calling asinine! Besides I thought you would trust your...friends!"

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 I call Savior and Marv's attention to me, "I haven't entirely left yet. And...I'll be fine. I guess. I just...I guess I was just being a bit too careful..."

"YA THINK?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"You consider me a friend? Wonderful!"

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "Nobody called you asinine. But even a genius can make unwise decisions." I say, unconsciously slipping back into Chinese-proverb mode.

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "Oh, hush up, you!" I say, finally sitting back down, "My Roast Boar is getting cold, worrying about your stinkin' secret."

[ParallelanPrincess]

"Is it a secret when half of the guests figured it out? Pass the gravy."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"oof...I'm stuffed. No more food for me."

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 I snap my fingers, and the ivory gravy train, complete with all cars, revs up and makes its way down, across the table, to Savior's plate. Upon reaching her, little tiny ivory men step out, and begin shoveling gravy onto her plate like train workers used to shovel coal into team engines.

Ivan calls out at last, "Are you all full? I hope you saved room for dessert!"

[ParallelanPrincess]

"Can I move back in?" I ask sweetly. That was the actual reason I'd been tailing him. "My place was nice, but....this was home. Hear that, senpai? I missed your big head. Let me crash for a few months."

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "Oh, I don't know, Mimi-ko..." I say as Ivan prepares final arrangements for dessert, "I don't know if I should. I mean, I have so much space. So many servants. No bills, so no need for financial help on your end. And plenty of folks willing to take care of you, so I don't have to. Not to mention the fact you won't be around often anyhow, with your and my various awesome-sauce adventures. Could be a bit of a stretch for my lifestyle."

The servants get a chuckle off of that.

"Sure, you can move back in. Your room should be just as you left it."

"Woot! We're back in business! Home sweet home!"  This was going to be epic. Whoever said you can't go home?

[Celadon's Penultimate]

Ivan calls out again, "Dessert's coming!"

The chef's assistants hurry out to take old plates and put out new ones.

Various fruit and candy pies and cakes.

Lots of pastries; muffins, donuts, cupcakes, puddings, jello, the works.

Two of the burlier assistants struggle to set up the seven-foot chocolate fountain. Another presses a button, which retracts floor panels to reveal a changing-beverage mini-river running across the floor. And still others work together to set up the faux-ice sculpture of a swan..made from the purest Candyland sugar crystals.

 "Nice to have you back."

I straighten my bandana. "Never left, senpai. Just went on a break."

"Well....that dessert ain't gonna eat itself. I find that I suddenly have room for more food. Let's dig in!"
