"Alright Big Guy, keep running until I tell you to stop" Hypatos instructs before adding secretly to himself "I hope the others catch up. My chances of survival were higher with them even with the troubles we had."

"Turn here. We've got to put as much distance behind us as we can. Look for an old unused part of this tunnel system, maybe a way to get a lower level even."
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

(Oh, dang. I certainly hope this doesn't have to die such an undeservedly mundane death. Simply being forgotten really would be a tragic way for this one to end.)

(Maybe somebody could update me, and I could post here, to get things going again here, too?)

"Hey Alex, you're the one that looks the most like people." Ammon said, grabbing him before he leaves the room. "I need you to throw me down and start beating on me. I have a plan."

Alex blinks, <<Uh...you have anything in mind I should beat you with? Crowbar? Plank of wood? Oh, never mind, I should probably just surprise you.>>

Without allowing Ammon another word, the Fext leaps onto Ammon full force. As the two collapse to the ground, begins to beat him unrelentingly. He figures thinking back to his annoying prankster cousin Gregor will be enough to make the emotion of the moment. And hopefully, his new friend doesn't take his ferocity personally.

Ammon yelped in pain as Alex literally beat the youth right out of his face. "That's great." he manages between blows. "But remember..... when the doors burst open...... play it cool."

Big Guy continued his headlong sprint through the tight tunnels, his shoulders scraping against the curved ceiling causing bits to crack off. A trail of dust and disturbed sewage followed him.

A couple of cops stumble along the scene and act immediately.

One of them tries to drag Alex off, while the other pulls at Ammon.

(I have no idea what's happening.)

The tunnel was getting narrower. Bits of stones were falling over Hypatos as his statue friend scrapped off sections of the wall.

"This is no good!" Hypatos called to his companion "We're going to have to double back and take another path! Even if we can make it through here, they will have a clear trail towards us!"

It was an unfortunate waste of time,  but hopefully it would give them the chance to regroup with some of their other companions before the two of them would have to break off on their own down another set of tunnels.

"I surrender.... I surrender.... Call him off, I'll cooperate, whoever you are. Get your thrice cursed animal off me!" Ammon chokes out, feeling the familiar taste of dust in his throat.

Now, Alex just had to play it cool and go with the flow of Ammons lies. And if this went south, he could always beat people up and run away, using Alex as a shield. Truly, this was a brutally cunning ploy that was in no way suicidal.

"Alright, Punk," Says the Cop holding back Alex, "I think it's time for you to head downtown."

"We should see what's going on first, Frank."

Ammon sits up, pretty obviously the worst dressed talking corpse ever. "I'll go back, I'll go back. For the love of Isis, take me back to the museum. I surrender myself to your authority, just keep that guy away from me. He's been hounding me ever since I broke out."

(That one cop Phi was gonna turn to stone called in backup. Everything went belly up and me a Phi kept having to kidnap people, so now there's 2 unconscious cops, and a poor couple that were out on a date who are also sleeping it off. Also, a stone dog, a pair of shotguns lying in the floor, a hole in one of the theaters leading into the sewer, a trashed cop car sitting out back, and a floating plate. This is all very suspicious.)

(This is just to determine where Rei is right now, ok? Cause I don't know where she is otherwise)

Rei walks out of the bathrooms in the form of a small red fox and looks at the police in such a way that it makes most people think of a cute dog, then sits down and starts grooming her fur.

On hearing the arrival of the police officer, Alex snaps out of his self-imposed anger-release therapy, and looks up, blinking absently. He then looks back down, murmuring panicked ideas to himself. The police officer is obviously expecting an explanation, and he'd better come up with something quick.

With that, he offers quickly, in broken English, "Eh...I have gotten this, man. Him is not as strong as him looks like. Big, he is, but looks like just lots of stuffing inside him. No...no worries."

Hoping to mimic the number of billboards he and his comrades passed on the way to the theater, he cracks a wide smile, and sticks up his hand for an awkward thumbs-up.

Hypatos and the Big Guy pass near the hole leading up into their former hideout as Hypatos tries to find a path large enough for his statue friend to travel down without leaving a trail. Unfamiliar voices were coming from above, mixed in with the voices of his companions trying to talk their way out of trouble with the humans who had come to hunt them.

"Fools, I told them to escape with me when they had the chance" Hypatos mutters.

There were still a couple paths Hypatos had not explored yet, but he was sure one of them led to the bigger tunnels further below the city that he had escaped through previously. His instincts told him to make a break for it, that pushing off his escape would only increase the chances of him losing his life, but he could not bring himself to flee while there was still a chance for the others to join him.
