I've been wondering...what minecraft skins does everyone use?
This is mine. I made it myself.

This isn't the exact one I use, but it is very similar:
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

Thanks. We both went for the suits and (Sort of) masks I see.

Yeah, I never liked any of the faces I made so i went for a mask. My guy still has a face (albeit a stupid one), its just hidden.

I just use the default skin, personally. It works for me and because everyone has skins, I get uniqueness in a different way.
Besides, people think I'm a newb, so they are unprepared and I can beat them with experience and expertise. By the way, check out one of my sort-of relatives' Youtube channel. He plays Minecraft at the moment, but I can imagine him expanding into other games. There is also a possibility I may play with him in future.

I must thank WHD for bringing this thread out of the super-thread it was housed in.
To get to the topic I wanted to talk about, what does everyone think about the Redstone Update? I personally think it is amazing. My dream features for the next few updates would include features from the Better than Wolves mod (though probably with different textures/recipes). In particular: General: 1) Block dispenser: Automatically harvest resources and use a hopper to remove them. Since it cycles through blocks, it could make very simple T-flip flops. 2) Obsidian pressure plates (only detect players; could make a one-way door for mobs when combined with stone/wooden ones) 3) Detector rail variants (wooden detects all, stone detects all except empty and obsidian detects only player-occupied). Could be used with tripwires (detect presense of mobs/players) and comparators (detect containers and their fullness) to sort minecarts. 4) Hibachi: While fires may be started by a dispenser, this fire lasts as long as the block is powered and does not use up durability. 5) Buddy block: Detects block updates. 6) Mossy cobblestone farming would be interesting, as the mod makes cobblestone in the vicinity of a mob spawner turn into mossy cobblestone. 7) Detector block: Detect ANY block, item, mod or player in the block immediately in front of it. It can even detect fully-grown wheat one block below the block it "sees", allowing us to make crop-based clocks. Mechanical power: 1) Windmills would look amazing. 2) The sidings, corners, etc would allow for awesome furniture and other aesthetics. They'd also make wood-based items cheaper. 3) Saws would offer access to sawdust as a fuel/resource and allow automation of tree felling and well as gears and the various mini-blocks of wood. 4) Platforms would make awesome lifts and castle doors. 5) Mill stones would be useful for making powdery substances like sugar. Would also allow for a greater variety of leather-based recipes using scoured leather. 6) The functionality of the hopper. Whether this is in the form of vanilla hopper modifications or an entirely new block, it'd be very helpful. Those are really only scratching the surface. I'd love to see more added, but in the immediate future I'd be happy with block dispensers. Combine that and the mechanical power (in particular the saw and pulley) with the Cart Mod and you've got yourself thousands of possibilities; I can picture people riding a pig pulling a chest cart and exploring the wilderness or simply travelling between towns before they're linked by minecarts. . Mind you, the hardcore modes in Better than Wolves are going overboard, although most would be fine as challenge modes (such as hardcore grinding, which necessitates use of the millstone to turn bones into bonemeal or sugar cane into sugar). What do you guys think?

Personally the latest update bores me to tears. It a far cry from anything I;d ever actually use. Sure it all looks cool and fancy, but in reality its all just fluff.

Which update is that?

I can understand your point of view, but I find this update amazing; you can automate item collection and sorting with little to no redstone experience. I could fill a server's cities with factories.
Not to mention tons of new minecart potential. I not only can collect items using a Minecart with Hopper, but I can also use comparators next to a detector rail to work out when it is full. My friends and I plan on making a gold nugget farm using this and the ability of Minecart to travel through portals, the only player interventions needed being staying in the nether. The carts would complete a round, go onto an unloading track until empty, the contents unloaded into a Minecart with chest (larger inventory = less minecarts traveling through portals = less lag) which would travel through a portal and be unloaded at an appropriate location in the overworld. The hoppers would also allow me to make a fully automated cobblestone farm by filtering creepers from other mobs in a mob trap, sending them to a carefully designed "cage" of cobblestone and sending a snow golem in a minecart to aggro them and cause them to detonate, destroying the cobblestone and allowing it to be collected in a hopper and stored in an appropriate location. Don't worry; the next update features new mobs for people who aren't like me. EDIT: Fixed error in a link.

I'm actually considering learning Java and making a few Minecraft mods, starting off very simple.
One of them would make Enderchests access a universal inventory (compatible with Hoppers + Droppers) when powered by redstone. For example, if this was installed on the SPL server, if Marv was making something out of stone bricks legitimately, I could chop down trees and put the logs in an automatic smelting contraption and have the charcoal loaded into the enderchest, which is used to smelt the unwanted cobblestone that everyone's mining and make huge amounts of stone bricks. If the same machines interact with an unpowered Enderchest, the machines are all treated as a single player (i.e. if it's put in by a hopper/dropper, it must be removed by a hopper). For example, if I was mining for an extended amount of time, I could build an automated witch farm and filter out sticks (which would be mostly useless in most cases) and have them automatically placed in a chest, for me to craft tools, thus eliminating the prime reason we need to return to the surface; to get wood for sticks. Meanwhile, I can still use the same Enderchest for accessing resources and the player maintaining the witch farms gets a steady supply of all the other resources. What do you think? If I ever create it, I'll post a download link here.

Hooray! Minecraft will have regional difficulty (gets harder the longer you're in an area, the harder that area gets) may also have seasons.

Heh. That's interesting. Normally in multiplayer games like MMO's it's the player that levels. And this is like the area is leveling.

10% Mushroom biomes? Lucky; those biomes are normally extremely rare.
For comparison, I am yet to find on in any of my worlds.

I've found them a few times.
I seem to get a disproportionate amount of Taiga.
