My designation of fixed was premature. My computer turned off a bit ago for no apparent reason, and now refuses to turn on again.

Actually, if I remove the battery and unplug it, then push the power button a few times, then it will work once repowered.

Not a good sign.

My laptop has been doing the same for a while. Try limiting the number of windows open.
Bow before your unimaginably powerful overlord!

Wait a minute, I'm currently too busy holding a cork in mid air for petty groveling.

I tied for Sons of Ether and Virtual Adepts. What now?

Also, what do those two mean?
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Maybe this and this.

I have a suspicion those classifications are based on the role play game worlds from White Wolf Game Studio.

Interesting.

The Virtual Adepts fit my NB character really well, and having the Sons of Ether tied in doesn't hurt either.

The whole thing is based on Mage: The Ascension's traditions.

The Mages in the game are basically reality warpers who only think their power works based on certain magical traditions. The Sons of Ether work magic via machines and SCIENCE!, and they can't do much without something to build or wield. The Verbena, however, can only work magic using certain paganistic rituals and invocations.

The Technocracy is a group of mages who decided to establish science as the dominant way reality works. They mostly use high tech stuff. The Sons of Ether and Virtual Adepts defected from the Technocracy after the Technocracy decided to implement scientific break-throughs they didn't agree with. The disproving of Luminous Ether and the murder of Alan Turing, primarily.

I got the Cult of Ecstasy and Akaschic Brotherhood as the foremost. That's basically I SEE THROUGH TIME WITH THE POWER OF SEX, DRUGS AND ROCK 'N ROLL and MAGIC KUNG-FU, respectively.

I got Virtual Adept and closed it in disgust over having gotten a non-Technocratic tradition.

The Traditions aren't that bad.

Mostly.

Not sure they are non-technocratic.
Those Virtual Adepts perform their magic through computers and other technological devices.

That a lot more technocratic than Marv's wiccan tradition.

I went to get my computer looked at.

The place I went had a sign listing services offered and prices.

I do wish I'd taken a picture. It's like "75$ - Virus Removal".

What. What kind of virus do you have that it takes seventy five dollars worth of service to fix it?

Ugh. The guy wasn't very helpful. Just helped confirm to me that my motherboard is slowly dying. Oh well. I'll hopefully get a year or so more off the computer at least.

I mean, he poked it a bit and looked at my icons and said, "I don't see anything that looks like a virus" and I'm just blinking and wondering what kind of people have been coming in that YOU CAN TELL FROM THEIR ICONS THAT THEY'VE BEEN INFECTED?

It was bizarre.

smh, I only wish I knew how to just diagnose viruses by merely looking at them.

I wonder how many tech-expert friends I could muster up, to gain my own knowledge on diagnosing and treating viruses...

If you can tell by looking, it's usually, "YOUR SYSTEM HAS BEEN INFECTED BY 1005128951 VIRUS! INSTALL TO REMOVE!!!"

Yeah, basically. But telling whether it's legit or not, for me, has always been a struggle.

If you didn't install it, and it's screaming viruses at you, it's a virus.

Try this. It works out well for me.
