Part of me thinks we could just move the threads to the top of the forum without making a new sub-forum.

Well, I think Myself has the right idea. It doesn't exactly go in with News and Announcements, unless you're announcing a newcomer, or they announce themselves. And the point of that subforum is not just to announce newcomers, it's to help orient them better within the Forum, to help them become productive and valued members here.

I like it being its own section, either above or below the news section, so that new comers are not so lost and they know how to immediately join.

Also, why isn't the message board pinned anymore?

I have, but I struggled to keep up due to my particular timezone. I've really only participated in New Beginning and some of the apocalypse RP's, even then rarely. I may begin again soon, since I now have ample free time.
