They do.

The fluff often bleeds over into how the cards work.

For example, Green has an awful lot of ways to make their creatures get huge and eat your face.

Well, now, that makes sense.

So, the colors translate, naturally, into the various elements.

Yes.

Green, for example,  has certain themes.

    Life (birth)
    Growth
    Nature
    Reality (as contrasted to illusion)
    Community
    Interdependence
    Spiritualism
    Instinct
    Animals

Green also really doesn't like the artificial.

Which is why it gets along poorly with Blue, because Blue is all about technology.

I found some articles I read awhile ago that explain aspects of the colors.

White, Blue, Green, Black and Red.

Hm...I'll probably read all that.

Right now, though, I'm working on re-elementizing the creatures of Warriors of Myth.

I'm reading about WUB and various other power combos.

I do wonder how we would handle mana costs and lands.

Same problem we have in the Warriors of Myth game, right?

Well, except these rules work. :P

I'm just wondering, because creatures and spells cost mana.. and you need lands to make mana.

 True.

So, what's wrong with that?

 Ahem.

I see your issue.

But, then...how do you remedy such a problem in the game itself? Does the first person to go automatically gain a headstart/advantage?

It doesn't really matter. You can have multiple land cards out at the same time. :o

They all give you mana or do stuff if you tap them.

Um, so, how do numerous lands play at a time?

And what do they do if you tap them?

Re: Magic: The Gathering RP

They don't affect things much beyond giving mana. As far as I can recall, anyway.

So you can have many of them out at the same time. I guess the game operates under the assumption that you're warring across a large battlefield.

Either that, or you're tapping into that domain (rather than actually traveling to that area, or summoning/creating that location).

Well. Anyway, time to start planning out what kind of critters I'll be poking.

Rocket-Powered Turbo Slug anyone?
