Magic: The Gathering RP

So, then I was thinking... and I came up with this idea as I was going through some of my father's old books, thinking about some of the older Yu-Gi-Oh manga chapters, and half-asleep:

Basically, we (the PC's) would be in the modern world and suddenly all of a sudden, without warning, monsters and creatures from other dimensions start attacking or appearing out of nowhere (and attack confusedly, not knowing what just happened). The only way to counter this new threat to humanity is to use decks of cards, specifically Magic: The Gathering cards, to summon and control creatures and artifacts as well as cast spells to fight back.

Each player would create their own deck with cards that they themselves researched or have (player's choice) that limits what they can do. However, you MUST know what each card does and the deck must be approved to be usable in the RP.

Thoughts?

Interesting. I have very little idea how to play M:TG, but I'd be willing to give it a try.

Me and Zale were practicing on a M:TG based card game with mythical creatures, in the Games section.

Awesome.

.. It occurred to me that having someone from one of the worlds coming into ours would be interesting.

It should be fine as long as you can understand the rules that get decided on later as I haven't fleshed out anything but the basics that are above yet. You'll just need to research the cards that you want to be in your deck on your own.

Yeah, it will be interesting, just as it will be interesting to see what type of deck each person makes.

Um...I'll think about if I want to participate or not. I may need to get acquainted with the Warriors of Myth game first.

Think of this as a good method of figuring out the rules of card games.

Don't worry. You'll have a while to decide as it's going to take me some time to decide on the rules for this.

Um, yeah, I suppose that's one way of looking at it.

Okay. Maybe we can give it a try during one of our next RP dry spells.

 What? No!

I'm not NEARLY ready to start the game! I have only the barest idea how even to play...

You can use this to look at cards.

We should probably start by explaining the colors.

There are five.

Each has a different philosophy.

None of them are technically good, or technically evil, though Black is often considered so.

So, Omnipotence is considered with a negative connotation in this game, and equated with selfishness, parasitism, paranoia and amorality?

 Okay...I'll, um...keep that in mind.

No, no, no.

That is the goal of the color Black.

They want so much power that nothing can ever challenge them.

The color Blue wants omniscience.

They want to know EVERYTHING.

The color White wants order.

They want a place for everything and everything in it's place.

The color Red wants change.

They want destruction, creation and transformation.

The color Green wants nature.

They want togetherness and instinct to rule.

Well, you coulda started off with that, along with the "each color has a philosophy" spiel...
