MMORPGs

Okay going to be succinct with this one.

Games are fun, if you're here you've probably played at least one in your life, if you're here on a computer you've probably at least played 1 mmorpg in your life by now. If said mmorpg was fun post it here, If anyone else plays it, you can team up with them and kill stuff. Maybe we can even go on group activities.

otherwise if you just know a good one post it.

here's my list.

Mabinogi
Warframe
Vindictus
Aura Kingdom
Tera
Dragon's profit
Gundam: Capsule fighters.
Rumble Fighter

Forgotten a few, but something'll jog my memmory.

Really? I stick to item mall/Free MMOs. Never play the P2P ones.

are MMORPG's the same as just plain RPG's? Well, no, never mind, Heroes the RPG had nothing to do with any video gaming, hehe... well, either way, I participated with Heroes the RPG, and not only did the role-play go absolutely NOWHERE, it consisted of my going through all the rigamarole of trying to please totally too-picky a-holes who had nothing better to do than nitpick about the story choices I decided to make. It was pure torture, and I felt unfulfilled trying to give them my best story material. They were all total jerks...

I have a suggestion...why not role-play on here? not the video-gaming sadly, except when perhaps the battle arena is up and running, but the story-collaboration part might be fun. Coming up with, or recalling, characters with their own special abilities, weaknesses, likes, dislikes and the like, might be fun. We all have pretty good imaginations, and pretty good senses of humor, so whaddya say? Would anyone be willing to try it? This section IS for the posting of Thoughts, ideas and STORIES...some of those stories COULD be role-play. Who's with me (raises hand, hoping he won't be the only one...)

Goodie!  I've got at least a few...

Then, we need to also make up some rules. Who's in favor for helping me devise and REvise some  to set up, edit and submit characters (superhuman and otherwise) and stories?

C'mon, don't be shy! I need volunteers, cuz this is gonna have to be a team effort...  "2,4,6,8, We love to write and narrate! Go Nerdiness! Go nerdiness! YAAAAAY!!!"

The Rules!

1) All invention of Gary Sue/Mary Sue characters will be punished by hammer pummeling!

2) Inappropriate language and trolling will be punished by hammer pummeling!

3) Facepalm worthy spelling will be punished by a "Drop-dead-now" glare

4) Copying another person's stories, ideas, or characters without their permission will be punished by the most cruel and torturous punishment know to man (And woman), The offender will be forced to watch Barney, Teletubbies, and Carebears until for the rest of eternity! Or Thursday... whichever comes first..

5) Lack of a sense of humor will be punished by a swift smack to the head!

Annnnd lets move this to a new thread!

Hehe, yeah, good idea. I'd hate for folks to get the wrong idea..."Alright posters, get your RP instructions from the thread talking about how much RP's suck..."

Actually, this thread probably shouldn't have died, huh?

So, I'm bringing it back, in case you guys have anything new here you want to add.

If any of you are looking for a fun mmorpg I heartily recommend Guild Wars 2. It's done quite a bit differently from other games. No class is race bound, you only have the main story quest and localized "heart" quests. Furthermore it has the best combat system in any game I've ever seen. Full of fluidity, active damage mitigation and interesting maneuvers. It does cost $50-60 to buy, but after that there's no subscription fee.

P.S. The character customization is really quite nice. Plenty of detail and options.

I wonder if there are other MMO's where the phenomenon of a Zerg happens.

Yes, the term "Zerg" originates from StarCraft.
But in GW2 it means you run with a large group of players to fight groups of enemies.

Anyone seen another game where that happens ?

WoW had raids, albeit those were more or less organized. I can't say I've seen other games where "zerging" happens. The mechanics in GW2 sort of lend themselves to that phenomena. Do you play GW2 wonderdrow?
