The hag-queen had appeared to have fallen asleep. She snored, head lolling back.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Mina pulls out a fine-tipped paintbrush and leans over towards Zaya to draw on Zaya's face....

I knew it.
"Let me tell you something, Hazet. She's no soothsayer and she can't see the future. She's just a con artist, though most of the time there's no difference between the two. How do I know this? Simple, her prediction got the medium wrong. Do you know she has a mirror in her cave that let's her watch everyone, study them, know they're habits and how they are liable to react to things? He turns to the goddess of hags, "Why?"

Zaya continued to snore nosily as Mina drew on her face.
Then a whisper quite tendril of thought reached out to the Watchman. A message traveled along it, unheard by any besides him. You'll have to continue this in private. I won't speak otherwise, unless you attack me now.. which would hardly send a message of peace and togetherness among these meetings..

Gilgamesh flew over the islands. An island in the north seemed to be protected as well, and with his experience in the last land, Gilgamesh decided to examine it later. The lands of beauty and crafting seemed uneventful as well. And then Gilgamesh came upon the desert continent. He had almost skipped over it since he knew nothing lived there, but the giant city the Watchman had made was unmissable.
Flying down, I could see a meeting taking place through a glass dome and decide to join. As I walk through the halls towards the meeting, a strange reaction begins to take place. The power of my Divine Artifacts fights against the negating forces of the dome. As I near the center, the dome itself begins to shake, outnumbered by the combined power I hold.

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

The Watchman dose a few token yells, merely an act, before stopping, throwing up his arms in mock defeat.
"Guess she really is asleep. How rude. Oh well, I'll stop accusing people. It hardly send a message of peace and togetherness among these meetings.. " There, message received you old shyster. "Lets talk about the future, then. Hazet, I would offer you any aid I could in restoring you're empire and reputation."

My empire is quite dead, and I have no wish to subjugate my children. Once I return to my home, I will create peace-keepers, diplomats, avatars.. to try and convince my children to cease fighting each other.
Perhaps with wings, for I find myself rather fond of them. He shifted his own, rather impressive, wings.

And that's when the rumbles started.
"I'll just go check that, back in a tic." It was then, outside that he saw Gilgamesh, decked out in all his glory. He called out to him. "Gil, the city hates what your doing. I'd take those off immediately, because once it learns to deal with them I wouldn't want to be near them, if you get my meaning!"

Gilgamesh is here?
Hazet's normally hollow voice hissed slightly and the air around him shimmered.

"It how it was designed. The whole City is a Divine Artifact meant to bring us all onto the same level, so..."
A horrible realization dawned on The Watchman. That shaking was not the city trying to reject Gil! When he next spoke there was a terrible urgency in his voice. "Gilgamesh, did this start when you entered the city? How many Divine Artifacts have you got on you right now?"

Zaya muttered something about gophers and the ground shaking. And to keep them out of her begonias.

"The closer I got to the meeting, the worse it got."

"Ditch them. Put them on the ground. The city lowered your divinity to that of a minor god, you can't handle the power of three divine artifacts right now, much less five. I'm not trying to trick you Gil, if you keep those on you are going to explode!"

The two exit the city and stand before each other at the city's entrance.
"Explain to me then, Watchman, what is going on here. I find a meeting going on and as I enter the city itself fights me and you demand that I severe myself from my artifacts."

"Gil, trust me on this. Let me explain. The city itself, is one huge divine artifact that I made. It lowers the divinity of every god that steps into it, to put us all at the level of minor god. So, you may be an overgod right now, with all those Artifacts fine and under control. But, once you step through that gate, your a minor god. Now why do you suppose minor gods don't just stock up on hundreds of artifacts to make themselves as powerful as overgods?"

"Now, I do not know if what you say about the dome is true, but you are one I consider trustworthy. Can you guarantee that I will not be taken advantage of in a weakened state?"

Mina had followed the Watchman out in the form of a fox after having gotten bored of drawing on Zaya's face. At this point she spoke up, "Minor gods definitely cannot stock up on thousands or even ten Divine Artifacts, much less 5. They don't have the capability for it."
