Shadow. Never, ever joke about that.

they haven't won, never will. Although that doesn't stop them from still trying every now and then.
What do you mean? I wasn't joking. If they don't bother you, it means they don't want to. Why don't they want to? They've already got you. Otherwise, they'd never relent, or give up, or get bored, or go away. They pursue ceaselessly until you either give in, or get rid of them. And when they leave, they try to return again. They will never fear you; they serve a force much more terrible than anything you could muster up.

Anything I say beyond that will undoubtedly take me to a religious realm, so I'll drop it at that.

Shadow he is correct from the neuroligical viewpoint that nightmares are actually semi physical representations of your fears and pain. therefore they are you, they are your simply creations of your brain intended to exist only so that you can surmount your anxiety and problems in a harmless setting.

Then perhaps you need to learn how the heck to deal with folks, without taking the offense, or letting your being offended cloud your judgment.

Rather than putting on "the Jester act".

So demons and nightmares, in your opinion, are not the same.

That also gives interesting insight into YOUR psyche.

If you chose to believe that something from a nightmare is an independent entity, then go ahead.

I understand that anything I dream is merely part of my own mind.

Demons are able to invade nightmares but no, they are not the same. And enough Sigmund Wolf. no one wants a psycho analyzation right now.

Whatever, I'm not in the mood to get into a religious debate with you (which is where my mind is headed). I have a different perspective on the origin and the nature of dreams and nightmares; you feel like you can overcome them by your mortal will, I called on the grace of God. Two different means to an end, and both of our problems are obviously resolved, so let's leave it at that.

Nice I'm sorry about that. I just feel insulted when someone implies that my soul is on a slow descent into hell

So, does anything important need to be discussed?

Wait- what?

How did we get to demons?

So, your mind makes nightmares to torture itself? Cause that's what nightmares are...torture. Neither the mind nor the body seek to destroy themselves; it's against our nature, and thus anything that seeks to destroy us (including nightmares and foolish, dangerous impulses) are unnatural.

I have my reasons for believing the way I do, as I'm sure you have reasons for believing the way you do.

And I can psychoanalyze all I want. Being the Jester helps you to cope with your anger issues, and analyzing self and others helps me make informed and wise decisions when dealing with people. I take every variable into account, which is why, I see no need to continue this conversation.

Welcome to my world. Have a nice stay!

So, what were we talking about?

Oh right..

Perhaps you could have some kind of shape-changing creature that disguised itself as a beautiful/harmless being, only to lead a person off into the dream world and feed on their emotions, slowly draining them and leaving them a catatonic dried up husk..

If y'all are done discussing nightmares, KCoM could use some attention.

Well, I never meant to imply that. Succumbing to demonic influence is not the death sentence people make it out to be, if people go through the right channels (again, not going into that). Not saying anything about your character, other than that alternative methods can be found to deal with nightmares and get rid of demons.

Actually my viewpoint is closer to yours, my mother told me that the people you see in dreams are actually demons sent by satan to invade your soul and plant seeds of desperation and mistrust when I was five. I just like to debate

*sigh* Why does everybody take religious/spiritual/supernatural talk as automatically being judgmental?

You all know that's never the intention...

Unless a nightmare is just your subconscious trying to deal with something.

I had nightmares all the time back when I repressed everything and engaged in severe self-deception.

Now I am more open and honest with myself, and far more at peace. My subconscious only has to worry about the normal annoyances and stress of being a teenager. So less bad dreams.
