What do you mean, why? Everyone here knows my perspectives on deities. I believe that gods are the last frontier of power. They are the highest rank in any world. If not unilaterally powerful, then collectively they work to form the ultimate power of whatever universe they govern. Even if that power takes the collective might of EVERY (non-monotheistic) pantheon.

Otherwise, they're no more than powerful mages.

But, anywho, I'm not in the mood to discuss it. I've given my opinion. And until it comes down to that, I have no real reason to bother with the matter further.

Yup, that why Aox's attack thus far have been raw and brutal. He's got no precision with the thing. But Fret not, the staff shall be dealt with appropriately when the time comes.

No.

I may have depicted such for the sake of New Beginning (though I doubt it), but in my actual mythos, the Penultimate is defers to, and equals up to less power than nearly any deity in any pantheon (with the exception of the minor gods, minor spirits and demigods).

 Kay, if you say so.

Like I said before, long as he remains on the side NOT attempting to take down, subvert or otherwise threaten the gods, I have no reason to react or call anything into question.

hmm, mine could probably bitch slap zues into submission simply given the difference in power demonstrated through their seperate religions/mythos.

 That's your business.

I don't disregard the divine so flippantly.

Aox is powerful, but not divine.

Think of it like this: The Gods operate on an entirely different mental paradigm than Mortals. Aox is powerful, but still a mere mortal. The staff compensates for his lack of understanding, but only so much.

A God can preform a complex rearrangement of molecules to turn a person into a frog. They can do this with out thinking about how they do it. A mere intuition. With but a thought they do this.

Aox would have to laboriously think through this entire process, carefully guiding power along the route. Even then he'd still harm the being in question.

It's like the difference between a normal person struggling through a complex mathematical equation, and a super-genius giving you the answer with but a glance.

Aox has more raw Oomph, but lacks this instinct and insight and wisdom.

I get what you're saying, and I understood it the first time you said it. In response, I will say again:

As long as he doesn't go power-mad, and try to kill, defeat or subvert any of us, then I will be perfectly fine with his wielding that thingamabob. Go nuts; do with it as you please.

What..

That would be a beautiful story of the Gods returning to their rightful place in the universe against the tyranny of a man gone Mad with power.

Wonderful.

No, but considering a staff of ultimate power is reaching into his mind and pumping him full of energy drawn directly from the void.

Still, Aox remains at his core a creature of the craft. Not a warrior of destruction.

Then you may go if that happens.

I place that on the level of rage-quitting.

It would annoy me beyond all belief.

 I'm glad to say 'no'.

In case no one ventured to guess, I rather despise the thought of humanistic rule of mortals over gods.
