 I am perfectly fine with the Monster King just dying.

 And the godstorm is the purply pink storm cloud of divine power that Uburra-Namall has circling her island to attack the hordes of nightmare monsters and undead. (Maybe I didn't define that term in the story clearly?)

Actually yes, at the death of the Monsterkign all of the one's outside of the dream world should burst into a spray of shadows and fall to the ground as withered mummified husks, and since I reworked the dusks now that they're under my controll, they should begin exiting any of their hosts.
