It's not that I don't like it, it's just that a mythical reason concerning the sudden breaking of communication seems to fit better in the age of myth, but your gradual shift works as well, just less exciting, or worthy of story telling, then again they will eventually come up with stories anyway after we take a back seat.

exactly. Just because A story has magic in it doesn't mean it has to be the reason behind everything.

It's not better; it's your preference. Two different things.

Some of us prefer an actual divine source for the language divide. Others prefer one that is explainable in strictly mortal terms. Either is acceptable.

Who said it was sudden? A Mythical world is not an excuse to make everything mythical....some things are just better off as simple.

It was just a generalization, I wasn't trying to speak for everyone.

And what's simpler than the divine equivalent of handwavium?

Direct contact with the logic and creative centers of the subconscious which control language.

I have bad dreams in English. No bad dream will make me wake up speaking Spanish.

Then there's no need to proclaim your opinion as fact.

"Blondes are better! Blue eyes are better!"

"JA! Heil Hitler!"

Doesn't make it so.

Er...no they don't. Sudden would be fairly quick. Hundreds of years would be quite a long time.

Wulf, you never answered my question on which other races you needed besides Brynhildr's (Succubus).

Mina's races: Imps, Succubi/Incubi, Yuki, Shadow-Scarred, Vampires, Lycanthropes, Zombies, Light-Scarred, Kata, Homura

Yes. Yes, it is, actually.

Rather than explaining all the scientific, anthropological and linguistic processes and blabbety-blah, just say "The gods made it so."

Problem solved, you're welcome.

The only reason you deny the simplicity is your diametric opposition to religion/God in general; otherwise, either means of explaining the language divide is acceptable/viable, and you know it.
