I'll see if I can't post something for this soon.

Does anyone mind me ninjaing the theme needle from Wulf to see how it works?
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Have it. I don't feel of much use within this RP anyhow. I keep forgetting to post, and losing my place. I'll try to keep up, but for now, feel free.

We're in a bit of a lull story-wise if you want to regain traction. Just going about basic NPC Village stuff.

I was waiting to make sure I got the device first.

If you want to assume that I got it and used it, you can go ahead and post a reply. I'm going to repeatedly use the needle on that coin I made until something happens.

As a note:

The theme extractor, while similar in use to the Altar, is more of quick patch job in comparison to the altar's capabilities. Of course you'd have to understand how the altar works to use it with precision. However, since there are a TON of in/else statements that decide how things are combined in the Altar (dependent on the pads and items used) its not likely you'll totally understand it by guess work and experimentation.

I can however give you guys a peek behind the curtain so to speak if you want it.

Are you saying that with the theme extractor its only temporary? Or is there some other negative thing with using it over the altar? Or do they just serve different functions since altar has more properties?

Does the universe explode if I use the theme extractor on an altar?

You can give us a peek if you don't expect us to be able to easily get access to all the rules during normal forum RP posting.

The theme extractor is permanent, but its a blunt instrument it merges themes only. The two themes are merged 5o/50 into the object.

The Altar can be far more precise merging not only themes, but functions and magical properties in varying degrees.

This is an oversimplified flowchart on how the altar works. My copy has a few more outcomes, but these are for variance and aren't really all that important....plus they make little sense.

Will it do all three, or just stop at merging magical properties if that is the first "Yes" in the line.

There is some degree of merging of function or theme after the first yes. This is all determined by the extra bits I didn't show. These merges are minor though and incorporate more of the base object's traits than the added item's.

How pissed would y'all be if the chest turned out to be a Mimic?

It's not. I'm just curious.

Okay, so I'm gonna try to read up on this RP to catch up soon. If I'm not feeling up to it, then I'll at least try to stay up-to-date long enough to die a valiant death, so my exit from the RP is plausible, and doesn't ruin the plot.

Just to make sure I did not misread... GV, you're digging at the sand around the chest's base, correct. To see if it really is a magic chest or just a clever illusion, with a room buried below the chest. Right?
