(No clue what you're talking about... )

(Well, this just got unnecessarily complicated.)
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Fairies live their lives in pursuit of achievements, or "cheevos." Each achievement is recorded in the pattern of the faeries glamor, witch grows more complex with every achievement recorded.

Human skin tones occur in five ranges of complexion, called by their people, White, Black, Yellow, Brown and Red. The reason for this distinction is unknown, especially under such plainly inaccurate labels.

The creation of the pie is strictly forbidden by the rules.
What exactly this strange "Pie" is is a mystery for the ages.

Due to some strange mutual fascination between the races, Humans have been known to attempt to capture Fairies, and Fairies have been known to attempt to abduct humans. Among Fairies' favorites to take seem to be children.

Moregald, the nation closest to the Factory, is ruled by a senate whose politics are so hopelessly quagmired with inter-faction bickering, bureaucratic abysses, and other inefficiencies that it has become a running joke that the Senate floor is a maximum security prison where delinquents are elected to for 10 year sentences. Protocols require other protocols which require other protocols ad infinitium, and there is more than one instance of the proper channel of handing common affairs being literally impossible due to endless loops of bureaucracy.
Matters of state as simple as resurfacing the roads or approving zoning for new housing invariably become swamped with red tape, used as fodder for a new round of bickering and infighting, and are delayed repeatedly, not seeing progress for years. More complex and important matters, on the other hand, are immediately buried underneath literal thousands of pages of superfluous legislation and have been known to be held for debate for decades. There is not one, but TWO proposals under active consideration for the declaration of war against nations that no longer exist. Thus, public affairs are handled informally and under the table, and when Moregald is legitimately threatened, army leaders impose martial law in order to actually accomplish what needs to get done. Most of the time, when these "States of Emergency" end the generals back down and allow the elected officials to resume doing nothing, but there have been instances over the years of juntas refusing to give up power. These typically end either with the reigning dictator dying and his potential replacement finally ending the state of emergency, or with public revolts. Sometimes said revolts re-institute the old Senate by themselves, other times they attempt to establish new ways of governing. The longest such "new ways" have gone before resuming Moregaldian tradition and having the government collapse into infighting and bureaucracy is 1/355th of a Factory Cycle.

(Hoping we haven't covered Death yet.)
Death only happens on The Culling Day which occurs at the start of every second Factory Cycle. The spirits of those fatally wounded will not leave the world until this point in time. If the body of those fatally wounded is still relatively intact, then the spirit may continue life as normal until The Culling Day except now in a painless state. No method of avoiding The Culling Day is publicly known and it is unknown what happens to a spirit if its body is too horribly destroyed before The Culling Day.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |
Merrow children begin life as sea snakes, grow to mammoth proportions throughout adolescence, and then begin to shed their skin as they become adults. They keep shedding layers until they are roughly the size of their fathers race, at which point they appear old, shriveled, and sickly, before ripping their way out of this final skin and being reborn as beautiful scaled women.

Most races refer to dwarven music as Rock Music and consider it to be a corrupting influence on adolescent children.

Faeries, Elves, Djinn and Ooli never become Zombies, Fexts or Vampires.
Dead faeries leave behind only a pile of trinkets: Their cheevos manifested in physical form. Each of these is generally a minor magical artifact. Elves return to the inanimate form they originally held, such as a pond or boulder. Ooli corpses are simply puddles of salt water, and Djinn corpses melt away as hallucinogenic smoke within a few minutes of death. Because of this, no physical body remains to be reanimated as either a Fext or a Vampire. (I'm trying to avoid making it possible for everyone to be a Vampire-Zombie-Fext-Wolf.)

Naturally, for what 'cheevos' they leave behind on death, Morlocks are very fond of Fairies, and seek them out often.

The Northern Lighthouse is guarded by Fairies, in the midst of the Shifting Wilds (a land inhabited by all sorts of illusions, shapeshifting animals, and purportedly a well of powerful, ancient, untamed magic). The Southern Lighthouse is guarded by Giants, in the depths of the Knotwright Forest (a vast forest where the plants move and speak, and the animals have been immobilized for the whole of recorded history). The Eastern Lighthouse is guarded by Djinni, atop the peak Labyrinth Mountain (a great height, filled with trap-laden pathways, riddle-guarded secret passages, and a multitude of misguiding clues along the way). The Western Lighthouse is guarded by Humans, amid the Honeyglass Enclave (a fearsome field of jagged naturally-occurring sugar stalagmites, which grow to be as hard as diamond--claimed by the humans from the Elves)
