I believe that that is a mythical condition, created as a backstory for a fictional character.

Don't worry; it fooled me as well the first time I saw it and I'm a biology nerd.

You are going on a heroic journey. Chose one to be your boon companion and three to be your enemies.

I'll go for the air support with the Garuda.

As potentional enemies :
1) Cactacea (big targets are easier to hit)
2) Vadyanoi (hoping the journey doesn't lead through watery areas)
2) Wyrmen (looks annoying but probably less troublesome then others)

Supposing the riverbow and stingbox don't count as potential enemies.

Partner: Vodyanoi for Magic Support

Enemies: Handlingers, Scabmettler, and Cactacae for what appear to be melee limited opponents.

I think the Stingbox and Riverbow are part of Remade.

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

I'd probably go with Torch. I hate hot weather and the ability to create fire would be endlessly helpful. I would likely be able to control pyromania.

Personally, I'd go for Dreadnaught or Specter.

Spectre is probably the best of the group but I like Vee-Tube.

Happy New Year, SPL-folk!  I hope you don't mind my asking, but the MU weapon of choice question caught my eye.  There's something I'd like to know for clarity's sake.  Would it be proper to assume that whichever item I choose, would there be some assurance of my ability to use and sustain the use of the object?  Phi's observations about Iron Man's Armor and Thor's hammer, plus the concern about recharging GL's ring were spot on and, depending on the response to my question, would definitely affect my overall decision.

Thoughts?

I always assume that any of these questions apply to me as I am now.

I assume all the parameters of the item's use (ie needing to be pure of heart to wield Mjolnir) and that they all apply to my current state (ie no healing factor for adamantium skeleton, etc).

In such a case, I think Green Lantern's ring would be great, but Thor's hammer is preferable (it's magic, allowing not just incredible hitting power, flight and projection of magical lightning, but also dimensional travel--it even comes back to your hand when called--the rationale should be nearly self explanatory).

As do I.  My main reason for asking is to find out if the DCU/MU rules apply to me, based on the perspective of the artifact/device.  I guess since the ring chooses the wearer and Mjolnir (or the Odinforce, by extension) chooses the bearer, then I could safely assume that I would be able to use them at a basic level of proficiency, which should increase with practice/training.

With that assumption firmly in place, I'd say that GL's ring would be my first choice (unless I had no way of recharging it) and Mjolnir would be #2.

By all means, please shoot holes in my assumption if I've left out a rather obvious point of logic here...

Well, Mjolnir weighs about 4.5 quadrillion pounds...without the strength of a god it's basically a really cool paper weight.

Re: Interesting superpower questions

No, anyone that is worthy of wielding Mjolnir can. Anyone unworthy simply can't lift it. For example, Cap can juggle the thing.

One of my favorite moment I've ever seen in a comic is when, after some huge battle, some random paramedic picks up the hammer and just casually hands it back to Thor. By the time Thor realizes the implication of what just happened the guy has vanished in the rush of rescue workers.
