This is how the world will be. No steam-tech in the beginning. Rules do make things complicated, though. If we have levels, we need a way to gain exp to level. I'll probably just sprinkle exp whenever you do something challenging to your character or defeat a monster. Now, We also need an incentive to level. Which means gaining something when you do.

No, they can only increase in power when introduced to strong magical/spiritual/devign energy for long periods of time, otherwise they continue to accumulate energy simply to exist. If they absorb to much they split, into two beings with a hive mind. And this happens again with those two, and so on, and so on, until you have a large traveling nest pf them, However when the hive grows to large the mind link breaks and several of them may drift apart from the orinal Hive. If they run out of energy, they can remerge with each other back into one Graeceourum to pool energy.

Like more spells or skills, or making already owned skills better.

Yes we can.
I am thinking of making something new and original for this one.

That would be new skills wouldn't it. So we can't go doing anything till we learn the skill for it.
Did you say if my class was ok?
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

WHen you gain levels I owuld think that all of your skills would increase in eptitude,as well as gaining the use of a certain skill/magic/ability or item.

I think I might try for a Jack of all trades Master of None Motif for this game.

I should be my female spirit medium character, Phasma Geist.
Not only can she sense, communicate with and summon spirits, she can channel them to gain new information and powers (which only occur when she channels the right spirit). And her familiar, a black cat named Casper, can speak and sense spirits as well (but can't channel them, and is immune to possession and compulsion) Whaddya think of that one?

Potion Summoner?
I suppose it is ok. I was hoping we could start off with some simple, basic classes. After awhile, you could get more specific aspects of a class or branch out into something else. Like a wizard deciding to focus on necromancy (Becoming a Necromancer) or a sorceress branching out to take a few levels in fighter (Battle Sorceress).

Then I'll go for Spellsword. A warrior class that sacrifices some strength to gain knowledge of a few battle spells.

I''ll be the joker/Jester/Fool, the Jack of all trades and master of none. A traveling Vagabond/entertainer/Almost anything for hire, within reason.
and my companion, Grace, the wise cracking Graceourum. I'll be a mirror from my days before the monster king.

Hmmm..
Now that I think about it... It might make things easier to create six or so really basic classes, instead of fifty or so. "Additional" Could be obtained by taking one of the basic classes and either focusing on one aspect of it, OR combining it with another class. For example, Shadowulf's idea (Which is awesome) could be a sorceress (Person skilled an innate- wizards have learned- Usage of magic) and focus on scrying/divination/necromany thus making a Medium. Or we could just make a bajillion different classes and have to figure out spells/skills/abilities for each.

Yes, yes I would, normally, but I doubt I'd have the time in this one, unless I discover immortality, eternal youth not invunerability, which I doubt.
Honestly I"d keep the billion and one sub classes route, but have a series of guilds set up that handle it all. Like theif, mage, warrior, and church.

Well, yeah, I think you're right. The main classes should be decided on, allowing us to build from there.
I mean, Phasma descends from a long line of those dealing with the dead. Necromancers, spirit mediums, exorcists, undead slayers, assassins, etc. So that would be pretty cool.
