If it's about it being housed in Australia, it's only because it's a perfect base  because it can only be axcessed by sea and air, along with a vast wild untamed outback, which can eailsy be monitored by the aliens. It's the perfect war base......accessable by man.

Too cold, and a high lack of resources. also it would be easy to detect a sudden flux in radiation or heat up their from the manufacutre.

You just revealed that you have deeply considered the placement of a base to conduct the domination of the world. However, they could still ship in huge greenhouses and make them part of the base. The base could be positioned several thousand feet under ice and use solar panels and deep drilling to gain power and resources.
