I had a friend who use to be able to control fire. He gave up doing it, but he still can stick his hand through a flame and leave it there without getting burned.
Another of my acquantances had several run ins with some demons while he was hanging arounnd with an occult girl. Yet another friend of mine swore that she and several of her friends were being followed by cartoon characters. Her's was Akashi from Naruto. I asked her to test it once, by asking him to knock down a piece of paper I had balanced on a table. It started shaking violently after a few seconds but didn't fall down, admitably though I was concentrating a lot of attention on keeping it still. My dad had a dream when he was a kid around where his uncle was asking him if he wanted to go with him to go fishing. He said yes, but that he needed to get ready first. He woke up, got dressed, and waited for his uncle to come back. My great grandad found him and asked what he was doing, and he told him. It was then that he found out that his uncle had died that morning at 2 a.m. He and the other members of his family, including myself, can enter a sort of beserker state when they fight where they black out. During which they almost kill their opponent. I'be managed to block this with a mixture of extreme mental training, and a general lack of enthusiasm. As for myself, I have an unataturally high empathy. have had a few instances with clairvoyence, can here my voice eing called whenever someone within a certain distance thinks of me. I have slight control over animals, and can easily converce with most of them, and a few plants. I use to have slight control over the wind but I'm a bit rusty, I've tried to manipulate fire but all I can do is make it warp slightly. I've seen a few spirits. I have slight access to large amounts of information, by asking a question, normally it's clouded though. When I'm not sick, I enter a state similiar to intuitive aptitude mixed with hyperactive awareness. I've had several other occurrences, but I'm not wiling to divulge them at the moment.

Hm...I tend to show some empathic ability myself. People come to me all the time with their problems, and even in normal conversation I can tell if they're mad or whatever, and generally who the emotion is geared toward. If they're close to me, I start taking on their emotions too, and find myself arguing with them, but saying basically the same thing they're saying like the feeling originated with me (I don't realize it till after the fight is over)...

uhuh.... mine doesn't work like that.
I can usually tell the emotional state of whoever is near me, by just being in the same room. I can warp their emotions through conversation if I wish but I usually don't, too much effort. Also I can make out slight auras if I stop focusing, for this reason my aim is usually beter with my eyes closed than when they're open. People also seem to leave behind trails. If I walk through a persons path several seconds after they've waked in front of me it fees like I've walken through a wall of air, usually occampanied by a specific smell or temperature.

I was thinking the same; Jester is a little off. But, yeah, my feelings tend to be toward myself and people I have a connection to... some empathy, some precognition/intuition, even some connection to the divine allowing me to feel when God's influence is particularly strong, and to write lovely poetry (not to toot my own horn)...

Hmmm.....
When I think about things like this, I'll often think in dialogue, with two conflicting points of view. I might do that for this and post it to entertain everyone (Mostly me)..
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

same here, althogh the other point of view is usualy annoyed about something.

Odd, when I'm affected by a divine muse I usually end up speaking in a combination of philosophy, advanced scientific theory, and gibberish usually relateing back to religious influences.

@ Jseter's first post: LOVELY poetry, not love poetry
@Jester's second post: Not a divine muse, GOD. Like, Jesus... @Zale: I'll probably post some of the poetry I've been inspired with in the past; once inspired it usually only take 10 minutes to start and complete...

Lets try and post this then...
Italics will be the disagreeing view, while bold will be the agreeing. On Empathy. Question/Decision? Workability. No Why? Unknown: Possible way to understand mental impulses other than your own. Psionics is far fetched. But not an impossibility. To unlikely, Occam's razor. Simplest solution is the most likely. Remember the flying bumblebee. No determined law is immune to questioning. No sufficient proof to disprove or prove. Alternative Explanation. Simple interpretation of Body Language/Facial Expressions/Vocal Cues and wanted self-belief. Possibility. However, Interpretation varies from person to person, Correct? Presumably. Such a thing could be genetic. Repeated answer. Suggested Solution. Empathy is above average human sensitivity to body language and facial cues, as well as an innate grasp of basic human psychology. Workable possibility. Could be changed with new info. Agreed for now. Passed, Barring new information. ... Annnd that's how I think about those sort of things....

Personally I'm not too fond of explanations of physics, or even quantum physics...they tend to stick too much to what people already know, and not enough to what could be as yet undiscovered. It's kinda arrogant to think that prior knowledge is sufficient to discover new things...I mean, think about it. If we all thought like that, Newton would never have even postulated gravity.
Speaking of which, how do YOU know within yourself that gravity is an attracting force? What if it were actually a force that pushed things away, and our ability to stay on earth's surface was not due to the tremendous pull by Earth, but by the even MORE tremendous push of outer space on Earth and its inhabitants. If so, this same force would also push the planets in their cyclical revolutions... Whaddya think about THAT?

Weightlessness in space.. If that was true, then we wouldn't be weightless there.
That would also mean that everything in the solar system would be moving in one direction. And unless the earth was at the center of this, then it wouldn't be a sphere. And how does that explain gravity on other things? And I didn't touch physics in that empathy thing.. Did I? Oh wait, missed that last bit. Ignore the italics. Sorry. But still, that makes very little sense. Where would this come from? What caused it? How is it focusing on all the millions of various items in space? How does it explain orbiting?

Weightlessness wouldn't be truly weightlessness, rather the exertion of stronger gravitic fields over weaker ones (the stronger ones take you in whatever direction they flow in)
As for the one-direction thing, that's not necessarily the case. If the Big Bang really happened (which it didn't but still), people could postulate that whatever exerted that force to disrupt the singularity and trigger the Big Bang could still be pushing all that singularity's contents in different directions, even till today and beyond. As for the spherical thing, just imagine a person pushing a pottery wheel at different uneven points until they are formed into a shape that allowed the least resistance (a sphere, which accrued the constituents of an atmosphere as it hurtled through space, so that it would provide less friction against the gravity; in the same fell swoop, the materials forming the land have the possibility to develop and sustain life forms...) But just remember, this is only a theory (and not even one I follow; just playing Devil's advocate, as it were...) (No you never employed physics into your explanations/self-debate, just brought that up on my own...)

Ohhhh...
So that was just random? Sorry then.. But if that was true, and someone proved it, then sure why not. I'd accept it. One thing though.. If gravity was all flowing in one direction, then wouldn't people on the side of earth it didn't hit be jerked off?

Anyway, I rather like the Theory of relativity
In it gravity isn't a force at all, but just spacetime curved. Matter bends space around it, which causes other objects to "fall" towards it.

It'd be pushing the earth like a basketball player spinning a basketball on his finger; every inch of the area would be effected...
(but again, just a theory...I rather favor the theory of relativity myself.)

okay then with that logic explain black holes. Also by your understanding this would mean that smaller celestial bodies would have the least gravity and their for you would weigh the most on them.... Also salt crystals are attracted to each other in a state of zero gravity. In addition to this I really don;t see hoe that would work because their are several disrepencies when this occurrs concerning celestial bodies and events, such as the moon would have eventally been flung off into space away from the earth.
I'm pretty sure that gravity is an attracting force, I know that you were using it as an example but still, you might as well have sai that gravity is a force generated by small strings of energy like substance attatched to each individual molecule that constantly pull them towardss each other, and when they get closer to another object of great mass the sting continually strengthens until the atoms touch each other and merge into a single orb of pure matter.
