It's a high level of science but not too high, man I wish I knew what the levels of tech were. As for the story of conflict gets kinda complicated. Its post-apoclyptic time frame. Set couple centuries after the end of the world.

The basic set up for how things led up to where they were was that after the "end of the world" thing people some people started gain magical abilities. With the magic the society's tech grew again at a faster pace than before. At some point people started not trusting the people with magical abilities. At some point they were driven out of the cities and they eventually formed their own society.

Because both sides grew apart from each other their ideals would clash.

 
Surprisingly it was on the first page it also reminds me I should get more into detail later on how things came to be.

Anything Else Unique About Appearance: I am example of early Full Cyberization, a process abandoned due to budget constraints and other.. impracticalities.  Essentially, I am a brain in a fully robotic body. It's rather convenient.
Tech Faction: I assisted several high ranking Foundry members in various laboratory experiments. With recent updates, I have begun to serve Doctor Castle in an advisory capacity.  
Weapon: I do not involve myself in combat, due to recent updates. If I did, there are several prototype weapons within the Foundry that I could use to reduce any threats to molten slag.
Personality: I am regarded as eccentric and very literal minded.
Alternate Skills: I possess a fully robotic body, which allows for a degree of enhanced strength and speed compared to a normal human's physiology.  However, it requires regular mechanical maintenance to function properly, not to mention the careful balance of bio-chemicals required to prevent my grey matter from suffering any sort of dangerous imbalance.

A few weeks ago, I participated in an experiment regarding a neural-computer interface with a large and very powerful computer. This linkage greatly enhanced my cognitive abilities, but also placed a great deal of stress on my psyche. It also did, and still does, restrict my movement due to the connecting wires and cords between myself and the computer. We are presently researching into removing this restriction through the usage of wireless connection.

Short Backstory: I was originally a minor laboratory assistant until an experimental industrial robot malfunctioned. The incident left me with multiple fractures, an amputated arm and partial paralysis. It was unlikely I would ever walk again. Doctor Castle offered me a chance to participate in an experimental Full Cyberization Process.. and I accepted.

Since then, I continued my work in the Foundry. My new body is much more convenient than my old one.
