No, it would also take a lot more than just a steam boiler to use that electricity. Plus then you'd need wiring, conductors, tubing, insulators, grounding the workers making the parts, etc. Much easier to use magic, just eat something and you can replenish lost energy. Then use that energy to create light, heat, etc. See what I mean?

@Phi: Sorcerium is also limited in that it doesn't block physical magic, like fireballs. I know Cabanilla mentioned that.

Can Mages draw energy from outside forces, or use any kind of cooperative group magic?

Sorcerium can produce an armor than can protect the user but that armor can take damage and break. So physical attacks work best against sorcerium. Also the tech side did have counter measures for rouge agents. Sorcerium users are pretty much agile human tanks. So they use armor piercing rounds to kill them with. Or an equal to eliminate them. Being skilled mech pilots. Mech gear can compete with sorcerium users its just they aren't as agile as they are for missions that needed that speed. Course the more skilled sorcerium users know how to make stronger armor. Even with training armor is hard to keep together while being constantly hit.

Forgot to mention I think magic has a counter to pierce through their armor. One of the aces was specifically trained after numerous encounters to kill the sorcerium users. I think she used to be apart of the magic side.

Yes, they can use cooperative group magic but more than 9 out of 11 are too independant minded to do so and it's usually the really weak ones who use magic in a coven-like way. As for drawing energy from outside sources, that would be the blood mages and they do so by taking in blood. Of course, the public tends to disapprove of them.

Bug, regain your old personality, this one is slightly annoying, and in all honesty, I don't see why not, if you can make one that is basically the size of a human, and run it off of a combination of alchemic spells, and energy siphons from the tech an magic sides then in theory you could create a sentient death golem.

Bug has a point, you talk big but you rarely pull through. What you really need to do is stop claiming your going to do things that you aren't.

Good to know, if it goes well I have an alchemist neutral drifter character set up. I have a concept for a sword that operates off of the concept of runes, and spell circles, with perhaps a possibility for sorcerium enhancement.
