Fictional Races, Flora and Fauna

Anyone else ever made up fictional  races and such?

Here are some that I thought of recently.

The world they are all from is a medieval-ish, fantasy type world. Magic, Kings, and Swords.

Museoian

Museoians are a very musical race. They enjoy song, dance, and have a variety of instruments.

Biology and Appearance.
Museoians are typically slightly shorter than humans and have a slender, almost frail, appearance. They have eyes that are typically shades of blue, purple, and violet.  They also have worse vision, and very bad night vision. However, they have super-humanly good hearing. A human can hear a fly in a room. A Museoian can tell exactly wear said fly is, and tell them apart from a whole swarm of flies. They also have a very good balance and are quite dexterous. They have a very long youth, spending almost 30 to 40 years as a teenager. They tend to live for 120-130 years.

Psychology
Museoians are very peaceful and passive. They prefer to placate than to antagonize. It takes an awful lot to make a Museoian angry and doing so is often a bad idea, Angry Museoians have been know to scare entire armies with bloodthirsty music(See abilities below). Many Museoians are agoraphobic, Probably from their long history of living in large elaborate cave systems. Young Museoians typically gather in small groups and wander the countryside, until eventually returning to their subterranean homes. Museoians are fascinated by strange music and dances, often spending days in a place to watch people preform them. Many people, knowing this, will find or even make up strange dances in the hope that a Museoian will preform themselves.

Abilities

Innate musical skill
All Museoians have perfect tone, and are instinctively capable of singing. They learn how to play instruments with extreme speed, and can often walk, and talk, at very young ages. Museoians are better than musical prodigies the same way those prodigies are better than normal people.

Sonic Enhancement and Amplification
Museoians can enhance the sound of their own music, and that of others. A group of Museoians play off this ability, Each increasing the beauty of each others music. Musicians often pay large amounts of money to anyone who can convince a Museoians to so much as stand near them and make their music sound better. Museoians can amplify sounds, making them louder than normally possible. They can make a whisper as loud as an avalanche. They can shatter metal and warp stone with this skill.

Relationships with other races
Other races universally love Museoians for their musical skill. Kings, Queens, Warlords, And Warladies have been know to go out of their way to insure that Museoians feel welcome in their kingdoms. Because of this, and their general peacefulness, Museoians can pretty much go anywhere with safely. Anyone who bothered a Museoian would generally be shunned by everyone else. Anyone who was crazy enough to attack a Museoian would be blown back by a wall of unbelievably loud sound and almost certainly left deaf.

I'll put more of them later, anyone else got any good ideas?

Bout time somebody thought of this thread! lol, here goes...this is a race I thought of just a few weeks ago...

Um'Shadar (pronounced Oom-shah-dar)

Um'Shadar are a serious and brooding race of Celadon, known for their especially dark skin and even darker attitudes.

Biology and Appearance
Um'Shadar are typically slightly larger than humans, both in height and musculature. Their skin tone ranges from the lightest gray to the darkest black, and they tend to have white hair (though the leaders or respected members, male and female, may elect to shave it bald). They have eyes that are typically shades of brown, orange or gold. In light, they have similar visual capacity to humans, though they possess excellent night vision. However, their other senses are fairly similar to human capacity. They tend to be close as far as family units go; however, even other tribes of Um'Shadar are not always trusted or welcome. The amount of vegetarians is about half of those who have normal diets, and a healthy lifestyle can result in a lifespan of 200 years or so, with most of that lifetime spent in adulthood and old age. The Um'Shadar are famous for their African accents (and the males for their deep voices).

Psychology
As a result of their abilities, the culture of the Um'Shadar developed early a respect for the power of darkness (both the absence of light, and as far as morals go). Throughout time, they have been known to worship gods of darkness, not so much as an aspect of evil, but rather of calmness, silence, secrecy and humility (as it does not boast itself over light). However, some do pursue other religious beliefs such as Christianity or Islam, with the exception that they work the darkness in somehow (one can even be quoted as saying as a Christian, "I despise the Devil because he wants us to live forever in the darkness; I follow the Christ because His is the Light of Truth that guides me in a dark world to the Light of Heaven"). This respect for darkness even reflects in how they raise their children...In fact, when an Um'Shadar child is discovered to have a fear of the dark, they are not comforted, but rather taken into the darkest part of their neighboring forests and left there for the night. If they return before learning what the darkness has to offer them, they are shunned from their tribe, and must go off alone, with not so much as a goodbye from their families. Any other creature (humanoid or otherwise) that shows a fear of the dark, or any sign of being intimidated by the tribe's appearance or culture is treated with the same disdain.

Abilities

Umbrageous Superstrength
All Um'Shadar possess this ability; in the absence of light, their strength becomes about fifty-times stronger than it is in the presence of light. In the same way, the darkness also grants them with an increase in speed, durability, stamina, reflexes, agility, and awareness. As such, male Um'Shadar often bodybuild under cover of darkness, making training workouts easier and making the results show up much faster. Only males receive the strength boost, but all other stat boosts are available, regardless of gender.

Umbrageous Invisibility
Um'Shadar, due to the dark coloration (and unique composition) of their skin, are capable of becoming entirely invisible in darkness. Even if the area is not pitch-black, the user can become invisible as long as there is not a sufficient amount of light. This ability is not automatic (it can activate and deactivate at the user's will), but if it is used, even infrared vision, night vision and enhanced vision are incapable of seeing them.

Night Vision
Um'shadar are all capable of seeing perfectly in the dark. This visual aspect is tinged green, but it allows them to see just as well at night (or in similarly dark conditions) as they can during the day (or similarly bright conditions). It is this ability that allows the Um'Shadar to easily stalk their foes and sneak attack enemies with ease, where others would have to stop and camp out at night...

Relationships with other races
While the Um'Shadar are not exactly known worldwide for their "people skills" (actually, they are among the most fierce and temperamental races in all of Celadon), they tend to respond much more favorably to races which have darker skin-tones. They consider lighter-skinned races to be unworthy of trust because the Um'Shadar are dark, so to be light means that you oppose them. As such, they are often approached with caution and fear (in fact, due to their nature, humans fear them so, that it is often customary to only send black people, or white people with their skin painted black to Um'Shadar tribes on missions of diplomacy, for fear of being shunned or worse...). Though, once trust is forged, they are fiercely-loyal allies.

Great. I thought I'd put some short descriptions of them before I described them in depth.

There are Museoians(See above), Onigi, Javes, Jubuians, Chitins, Merroway, and Grigrae. (More might appear)

Onigi (Singular- Onig)  Onigi are the undisputed strongest, toughest, most emotional race ever to walk the world. Onigi value strength and skill of any kind, and encourage shows of emotion. They have the worst tempers of anyone and to make it worse, have boulder crushing strength to back it up. Onigi are very genuine with their emotions, when they hate someone they really hate them and when the love someone they really love them. They don't just go halfway with something. Onigi have been know to fall in love at first sight and do virtually ANYTHING for the person they are in love with. They have to be very careful what they ask for, because you never know what they might actually do. (EX: "I wish i was a King/Queen" Then expect an Onigi to bust into your room with a captive ruler, demanding for their crown.) Onigi are scary strong, and when they get upset its wise to go the long way around them.. Several miles around is a good idea. Angry Onigi have been know to decimate entire armies. They only things that they fear are water (They can't swim.. Sink like a stone) and Grigro(Which scare EVERYONE). They often have strange colored hair and sometimes horns.

Javes (Singular- Jave) Javes are one of the happiest races in the world. (Not to mention the heaviest) They are taller than most (9-11 ft tall) and weight more than 10 humans combined. Javes are fat and take pride in that fact, often boasting about how many boats they've sank by jumping in them. However unlike other races, A fat Jave is a healthy Jave. It is the norm for their kind, and skinny Javes are often sickly and weak. Javes love to eat and are goodhearted. They have a sense of humor and are very generous, often giving away large amounts of food to people that visit them. Javes laugh often, and are virtually impossible to put in a bad mood. For obvious reasons few boats will let a Jave board. Javes are good farmers and the best chefs ever. They make meals that Kings and Queens would beg for. Javes have strange skin colors, Including the normal skin hues, but also strange orange and red tones.

Jubuians (Jubui) Jubuians are pranksters and jokers. As skinny as a Jave is large. They play pranks on EVERYONE. Kings, Queens, Clergy, Farmers, The ultimate evil, or even Gods. The expression "To earn a Jubui's respect" Is often used to say something is impossible. Anyone who could do that would probably be instantly elevated to Godhood. Jubuians are from the deep jungles and are very agile. They are fast and annoyingly hard to catch. Jubuians are one of the few races (Besides humans) that have a unique magic, They use this magic to further their pranks. Invisibility, Teleportation, Instantaneous Banana Peel Apparition... All these things are possible with their magic. They have a less than serious approach to life, they believe that life is about having fun and enjoying yourself and look down on people who are to serious and cause sorrow. Despite their pranks, Jubuians do know when to stop, they will make amends if they actually hurt someone, emotionally or physically.

Chitins (Chitin) The insectoid race. They resemble a cross between a praying mantis and an ant. They communicate mostly through smells and pheromones rarely vocalizing at all. They live in very large cities (called Hives) Under the baking desert of Joval's Kiln. With their strange appearance and language, they are not very well accepted among other races, preferring their own company. A Chitin who wish to venture out of their homes often wear loose clothing at least make others more comfortable(Because they rarely bother with clothing themselves). Chitins have a sort of loose hive mind, due to their ability to communicate quickly through pheromones. They often solve problems and think as a group. Chitins place a high value on honor, ethics, and order.  Most would rather curl up and die than renege on a promise. They are stronger, faster, and more agile than most humans, and because they are used to working together, they often carry out group tactics with deadly efficiency. Many have tried to invade their hives.. none have lived to tell of it.

Merroway (Merrow) An aquatic race, know for their strange philosophical views and life cycle. A Merrow starts out life as a beautiful woman or handsome male, they look totally normal besides their ability to survive under water.  They stay this way for a time, but eventually become more and more fish-like. Growing fins, scales, and a tail. They eventually become more like a fish than a human, and incapable of moving far away from the water. They only way to prevent this is for a youth to marry a non-Merrow Bride or Groom. Then they will stay as they are virtually indefinitely. Merroway have no know lifespan. They become more fish-like as they age, eventually becoming little more than a large, intelligent fish. The Merroway have a myth as to why they are like this
"When the world was young, and the gods themselves had yet to be, the Great One created the Merroway. The Merroway rejoiced in their creation, praising the Great One. The Great One, pleased with their praise, gave them the gift of unending life. The Merroway long philosophical, used this time to attempt to discover the secrets of the universe. They discovered many things about Time, and attempted to use this knowledge to see and travel through time. The Great One, angered by this, Cursed the Merroway. They would have life unending, but they would become more and more at home to the ocean they loved. The Merroway, heart broken by this, asked why. The Great One said that there were things no mortal should know. He refused to rescind His punishment, but allowed them to continue to look through time, but NEVER to travel it again."
Such is the curse of the Merroway.

Grigrae (Female- Grigra Male- Grigro) Grigrae are an old, old race. More ancient than the Merroway.  Like them, they to are cursed, though for different reasons. The Grigrae tried the unthinkable, they almost killed the world itself in their quest for power. They were cursed to have their natures split between their male and their female. Grigro are large, hulking scaled monstrosities with one huge glaring eye and snake-like hair. They have strength only rivaled by Onigi. They are violent and brutish, Grigra are as beautiful as Grigro are hideous. They pale and have four feathery wings. Blindfolded and graceful, they fly over the night skies lost in their sorrow, looking like wandering stars.

------------------------------------------
I'll do an in-depth one like Museoians for each one later.

I suppose I should do the same...

There are Um'Shadar (See above), Lura'li, Winds (Eyriewinds, Forestwinds, Shadowwinds, Vexwinds and Wildwinds), and Chronodites...I may post more.

Lura'li-  Lura'li are the ivory-skinned archfoes of the Um'Shadar. They see them as an utter blemish upon the natural world, because they value the darkness, which the Lura'li equate with immorality, sin and corruption. In fact, they are just the opposite of the demeanor of the Um'Shadar, even though they descend from the same humanoids. They are easily trusting of others, regardless of skin color, and are more likely to question invaders first than eliminate them. They are slightly smaller than Um'Shadar, making them about the same size and shape as typical humans, and there are more of them than there are Um'Shadar. Just as their counterparts become stronger in the dark, they become stronger when exposed to light. In addition, they can become invisible as long as they are exposed to light. They value the light and even before introduced to religions like Islam and Christianity, they equated light with intellect, enlightenment and divinity (as light comes from the sky); they value cleverness and intellect over might and power, though they are still tribal like their dark counterparts.

Eyriewinds- Eyriewinds are faye with pale-blue skin, white hair and a tendency to not wear clothes (if they do wear clothes, it is often composed of silken cloth). They make their homes in the highest peaks of the mountains, which they guard fiercely and relentlessly. While their lithe, sylphic frame doesn't make them suited to fight off foes with physical force, they are armed with the capability to withstand mountain conditions with ease, as well as the powers to perceive the flow of the wind and control wind and ice. And their attitude reflects this perfectly. They are cold (both their attitudes and their skin) and uncaring for the world below their family eyries (homes made in the mountains). They are not above misleading weary mountain-climbers who ask for their guidance and causing avalanches to defend their home or get revenge on invaders.

Forestwinds- Forestwinds are faye with orange-brown skin, black hair and a tendency to not wear clothes (something typical of Wind species). They make homes in the forests (often in treehouses), which they guard with great strategy and, above all, stealth. While they can be relentless in their pursuit of foes, they also do so sneakily, often setting traps, or using their ability to distort the invader's sense of direction. And their attitude reflects this. They are just as secretive as the woods they defend, and often use their power to camouflage to spy on those they don't trust. In addition, they find it a great offense if invaders make too much noise, or if they harm the native plant life and wildlife. They are not above tricking foes with their innate ventriloquistic prowess, throwing their voice and imitating animals to mislead or scare foes out of their homes.

Shadowwinds- Shadowwinds are faye with pitch-black skin, white hair, golden eyes and a tendency to not wear clothes. They make homes in treehouses in the dark forests of Sciops, where they lurk about and play their various pranks, using their abilities to generate, manipulate, blend into and mimic shadows. They are very sneaky and very deceptive, to say the least, and they will often scare unwary foes by changing foes' shadows to look like lurking beasts or using their ventriloquism powers to imitate the spirits of the dead. And if they see something they like, watch out. They know how to get it. They are talented actors, and know how to act like they are wounded, or frightened, or in need of help to get your sympathy. And once they have it, they are adept at using your compassion to get what they want (though, much bolder or much more desperate Shadowwinds may just sneak up on you, imitating your shadow, and then snatch your belongings and fly away)

Vexwinds- Vexwinds are the disembodied spirits of Winds (though, despite, being the spirits of Winds, they lack fairy-like wings, and instead have pinkish-purple skin; pupil-less white eyes, pointy rabbit ears atop their heads and no mouth; the head floats fixed above the shoulders, not attached by a neck). Malevolent and insidious, they taint and sicken all they touch, leaving water fetid and air stale wherever they go. Despite having no mouths, they can still speak in harsh, raspy tones; they can project their voices just like living Winds, but can also mimic voices of those they encounters. They often use this ability to scare the ever-living out of hapless victims for no reason at all, and then taking any treasures that the victim might leave behind as he runs away. Should the victim be foolish enough to try and face the Vexwind head-on, he risks being possessed by the wicked spirit.

Wildwinds- Wildwinds are faye with darker orange-brown skin than Forestwinds, and typically brown, green, blue, yellow or orange eyes. They are the only Winds who prefer to wear clothes. They are perhaps the most domestic Winds, as they live the closest to other humanoid species in Celadon. They live in treehouses, but may also make camp near human barns, farms, villages and settlements if they suspect any animal mistreatment. Deeply affectionate for animals, whom they find to be the most interesting creatures to talk to, they will gladly set captive animals free, or set them against their owners if they find out that the animals are being harmed, mistreated or neglected. Their connection to animals is so deep, that battles against them must be done on foot or in war machines, because the animals used to ride into battle will refuse to attack them. Other nature-oriented species, such as elves or the like, often ally with Wildwinds to insure protection from wild beasts.

Chronodites- Tall, white-haired, pale and beautiful as can be, Chronodites are the very embodiment of the minutes in time, said to be as numerous as the stars. Fortunately, they are also a peaceful race, pacifistic in all their dealings. They refuse involvement in any matters of battle and war, and their ability allows them to easily do just that. Gifted with the power to perceive and manipulate the very fabric of time, they often use such simply to evade fights or help others in need, though a great majority of them won't even do that, determined to remain in their own parallel universe and go about life in blissful ignorance of the workings of Celadon, Earth or any other sentient planet besides their own. In fact, only a small portion of Chronodites will ever leave their unnamed homeworld besides those who travel to Celadon on missions of diplomacy. They are a mature, intelligent and religiously devout humanoids, with some of them serving time gods like Chronos, and others adopting human religions. Though they can be harmed, they are effectively immortal, vulnerable only to time-affecting abilities, and only capable of truly dying when their minute in time ceases to be important to the progression of the universe; they can sense when this occurs.

Onigi
The strong, very passionate race. They live in high mountainous areas and often travel.

Biology and Appearance
Onigi live in high mountainous areas and because of this, they are all but immune to altitude sickness and have no fear of heights... or anything else really. Onigi often have strange, even fiery eye colors. Reds, Oranges, and Yellows aren't uncommon. Well known for their crushing strength and total inability to swim. It is thought that Onigi have a great deal of muscle compacted into a smaller area, making them very strong, and extremely heavy. Onigi are often 20 times stronger than they appear to be, capable of lifting things 4 times their own size with ease. Onigi often have strangely colored hair, in tones and colors never seen in nature, or anywhere else for that matter. Horns of various numbers and kinds are common. Onigi age very well, and because of their often athletic lives they often retain much of their strength and mobility. 80-90 year life spans are common.

Psychology
Onigi are very competitive, often arranging bizarre or even out right ridiculous contests. "Let see who can run across the continent first, Who can drink the most bear before getting knocked out?, Lets see how far we can chuck these boulders!"
Most people avoid these "contests", though some come to see them. Given their extreme emotions, you would think that most people hate Onigi. But most Onigi are very brave as well as emotional. Sure they might try to kill you for making them mad, but they would run into a burning building to save someone without a second thought. They love what they love and hate what they hate. If they like someone, they would do anything for that person. Onigi love children, and have been know to go on army-decimating rages if someone hurts a child. They often fall in love at first sight, then move heaven and earth to let that person know.

Abilities

Superhuman strength
Onigi are superhumanly strong. Capable of lifting things many times their own size. This super strength extends to their entire body, meaning they can jump large heights and run very fast.

Extreme Temperature Resistance
A less know ability of the Onigi is that they are not as affected by extreme temperatures. They can survive extreme cold and heat. Some have been know to be able to walk through fire unharmed.

I finished the Wildwind description and the Chronodite description, but I think I'll stick with the shorter descriptions, they seem to get the job done better, so I don't have to elaborate, but you can still get the general idea about my species... (LAZINESS, ftw!)

I thought i'd do some info about the history and geography of the world-place that those races live in. (will go indepth on them later)

If you copy this, ask first, I'll probably say yes anyway, But if you steal it... you will die slowly.

Ok then!

Lets start with history/Mythos

Aurlesan (The world/place) Is the oldest, and the first, world ever made by the Great One. Or at least the first successful one, Even the Great One is not perfect and learned from trial and error.

The Great One, Above even the Gods, Created Aurlesan. He( or She, Or It. Its impossible to tell, because no one the only ones alive from that time are extremely fish-like Merroway and a few Daji) created the world, Shaping it like clay into a landscape. But this world was devoid of life, empty. The Great One made plants and animal to populate the world, but it still felt incomplete. The Great One pondered this, and decided to make a life that thought.

The first of the races was the Grigrae, Though they were unlike they are now. The Old Grigrae were human like, but very beautiful, winged, and almost luminous.(Much like the modern Grigra, But less sorrowful). They were long lived, and powerful. Swiftly their civilization grew as glorious cities were made (road-less, for why would those with wings need roads?) Temples, and monuments grew as the young race reveled in their power..

.... But power corrupts. The Grigrae grew callous and cruel. They began to steal from the world, taking its energies as their own. This cumulated with a ritual involving thousands, one that would kill the young world, but make the Grigrae like gods. Before it could complete it was stopped in its tracks.. By none other than the Great One Itself. It was angered beyond all  belief by Its creations. So it cursed them, stripping them of their power. The Grigro became hideous and the Grigra became blind.

For many years the sun and the moons were hidden.... Then the Great One decided to try again, It made a new race. Less powerful than before.. The Merroway were born. As they were created, they praised the Great One. Taken back by this, the Great One gifted them with life unending. As the Merroway turned their minds and long lives to the mysteries of Time.. As explained before, they discovered to much and the Great One, Fearing another Grigrae Disaster, Stopped them in their tracks.. The curse of the Merroway was born.

The Great One was sorely distressed by this. All thought-life, it seemed, would do something to cause disaster.. It decided to make a new race, Powerful and Wise but Whimsical and Child-like. Thus the Daji were born. Their Whimsical and Silly natures soon won the Merroway's adoration. They enjoyed the Daji's Presence in their coastal cities. They soon discovered, much to their surprise, The great power of the Daji. They could grant the whims and wishes of any who asked! The Merroway, cautious to use such power, Gently tested it.. They soon discovered that these "wishes" were potent magical manipulations of the very fabric of the universe. Fortunately, the Daji could not activate these powers. (Or the Daji would probably turn everyone into rabbits, or make it rain chocolate.)  These manipulations were not without their down sides. The "wishes" had a kind of magical backlash. The bigger the wish, the worse the backlash. The backlash was a destructive burst of energy that originated from the Daji. Even minor things, such as "I wish for a fresh fish" could cause the destruction of a small house... For a time all was well...

Then the Great One, Pleased with the world, Decided that while, the Merroway lived by the sea and the Daji in the deserts, the other places of the world were vacant.. It made the Onigi to populate the mountains. Following It's normal pattern, The Great One then retreated to observe what happened. The old (Or should I say new?) Onigi were different from the Ones we know, They were far more war-like, All emotions squashed under conquering instinct and rage. They conquered the Merroway and Daji in only a few months, They even tried to capture the Grigrae (Thought they soon gave up). They set up an empire, enslaving the other races. The Great One pondered what to do. It was tired to punishing.. It soon came up with a clever plan, It would give the Onigi compassion to match their rage. The Onigi suddenly full of love and caring, Did the only thing that seemed natural.... The fled back to their mountain homes so they could figure out what the heck was happening. After sorting out their emotions, they soon apologized to the other races. They were soon forgiven, and there was peace.

-------------------------------------

To be continued.

I did some pics but they're in black and white, and they're more cartoony than these, so go for it. (BTW the Lu'Rali are WHITE, not like Caucasian, like CHALK...)

I have a few I can give you.

Khalterian:

Physical Appearance: All Khalterians are roughly humanoid, covered in thick black fur. The fur bleaches white at the tops of their heads and ankles and becomes red at the wrists. Khalterians possess four arms, the lower pair springing from the armpits of the upper pair. At the tips of the lower hands they have humanoid hands, but their upper hands have four claws 6 or so inches long. Khalterians have average human IQ. All of them are exceedingly fast, but females more so.
Male Khalterians stand some 7 feet tall on average, weigh 650 pounds, and are stronger and more muscular than mountain gorillas. Their claws are somewhat blunt and very jagged. Males can run up to 30 miles per hour.
Female Khalterians are about 6' 6", weigh 250 pounds, and are lithe and quick. Their claws are thin but razor-sharp. Females can run up to 45 miles per hour.

Life Span: Females are pregnant for roughly 7.5 months before they give birth to young, usually 2 at a time although 1 or 3 is not uncommon. Both sexes live some 70 years, hit puberty at age 18 (this is the time when their fur changes colors [it is solid black until then] and their claws grow), reach their prime at 22, and begin to lose muscle tone and mental faculties at 60.

Personality: Khalterian society is rigid and militarized. Men and women are equal socially, although the differences in physique means that some accommodations must be made, meaning that they are often somewhat separated. Individuality and invention is strongly encouraged, making the Khalterians a curious and exploring race.

Structure: Khalterian society is organized and elitist. There are two royal families, one of which has the duty to produce a male ruler (Shan'tor) and one to produce a female ruler (Kli'on). The Shan'tor and Kli'on become mates and have a single birth together. Their children together (Trianas) will not become rulers unless there is no other heir when the rulers die, but often they will become military leaders. The successors to the twin thrones are instead the rulers children by other non-royal parents; if the Shan'tor has two sons or the Kli'on two daughters, they will fight to the death at age 20 to determine who succeeds the throne.
Men and women alike are required to serve in the military for 2 years, from the ages of 21 to 23.

Ailoran:

Physical Appearance: Ailorans are amphibious humanoid reptiles. They are the same height as humans and roughly the same strength, perhaps a little stronger, but are covered in blue-green scales. For natural camouflage when in the water, the scales are darker on their back than their stomachs. These scales shed twice a year, are harder than steel, and protect Ailorans from any changes in temperature, though not to a ridiculous degree. When superheated in a forge, shed scales fuse together and can be hammered into weapons and tools. They have, instead of arms, fin-like appendages that end in hands. Ailorans also posses a shark-like tail which they flap vertically. Their mouths are lipless and have needle-like back teeth, but normal looking front teeth. Their noses are just slits in their face and their lidless eyes bulge out of their heads. There is little difference between males and females at first glance but a few facial scales on men are black, and women are often slimmer.

Life Span: Every 4 months Ailoran females lay eggs whether fertilized or not, up to 40 at a time. Ailorans can Psionically detect which eggs have children in them and which are vestigial decoys for predators. These "false eggs" contain all of the nutrients required for an embryo but lack the embryo itself and so form a nutritious core for the Ailoran diet. They mature at age 20 and live for some 120 years, becoming elderly at roughly 105.

Personality: Ailorans are tinkering, intelligent, and value discovery. They are not exactly curious; it is more of a cold analytical desire to know more about the world that drives their science. The pursuit of knowledge does not detract from culture, however, and the Ailorans have a rich culture characterized by their tribal ceremonies.

Structure: Ailoran society is matriarchal; each individual can mentally trace his or her familial line back to one of the first 100 Ailoran women. There is no centralized government. Rather, disputes between members of different families are resolved through conference between the older family members. If the oldest surviving members of the lineages can't agree, the ones involved in the dispute will undergo a ritual in which the ones involved in the dispute will allow their bodies to be possessed by the next higher generation and so forth until an agreement is made.
All hail the king of dunces! You best hold on, I'm opening up my mouth.

Since this Idea is so awfully tempting, I cannot help but put stuff that I always think about.

Well... Since the title also includes flora and fauna, I want to add something that I thought of about three months ago.

I had an Idea of a breed of Extremely rare plants and trees. They're very rare because they're not normal vegetation.

There are different species of them, but since all of them are different from normal plants they are under an entire
Category. They are called "Apauruseya Roots" (or Apauru plants for short).

They are Plants/Trees that possess vast supernatural powers.

I haven't came up with that much species, but I did made up a guide in spotting Apauru Floras.

NOTE: "NOT" all Apauru Vegetation has all of the characteristics. which is why there are different species of them.

SPOTTING THE FOOD
• The Fruits and/or Veggies are commonly exotic looking. But not always.
• Some of the F/V take on Complex & unusual shapes. Ex: A fruit that is in the shape of a Dodecahedron.
• Some can take on unusual looking colors. Ex: gold, silver,
• The fruits generate Powerful smells that are 200 times stronger than normal fruits. Veggies vary.
• The F/V give off different temperatures (depending on the environment around it).
• All of them give off a certain effect in the air around the plants.
• Some of them generate an outer glow around them. Causing a glow in the dark effect.
• Most V/F either have a longer life span, or fully lives all year round (without greenhouses or human supervision).

THE FLOWERS
• They are usually exotic (but not always).
• The flowers generate Powerful smells that are 400 times stronger than normal flowers.

THE PLANT / TREE ITSELF
• Most of them prosper all year round without any sign of a dead leaf.
While some species live for one day and fully  regenerate into a full adult plant/tree the next day.
• Some of them live in places where it is desolate and does not support Vegetation.
        Example: Deserts, Antarctic environments etc.
• Most of the features on the Plant/Tree contrast the environment around it.
Example: A tree that looks like a tree in the European forest ends up in a Rain forest, or a Savanna.
• "Some" of them take on unusual size. Example: A tree that is 20 stories high and 4 stories wide
with branches that covers a  football stadium.
• Some species of trees have branches that glow at the tip like thick, fiber optic lights.
• Some species of plants/trees have unusual colors on its root or trunk.

THE EFFECT'S IT GIVES AROUND THE ENVIRONMENT CLOSE TO IT
• Usually, normal animals would act weird around it. Example: drop down and fall asleep automatically.
• The Air is different within 300 ft or 200 ft of the Plant/Tree.
• You are most likely to come across some animals that can talk.

COMMON POWERS THAT 50% OF THEM HAVE IN COMMON
• Some plants/trees are un-effected by fire and sometimes absorb lightning bolts.
While others regenerate very rapidly within a day (or overnight).
• Some trees manipulate reality to make the traveler go in circles.
• The F/V always give off some supernatural effect when eaten.
Example: being already full after being hungry for three days. Having the ability to levitate. Etc.
• Some of them grant wishes. The number of how many wishes you can have varies.
• Most of them contain otherworldly healing powers.
• Some of them can talk telepathically.
• Other powers are yet to be discovered

The only problem is, I get a good informative Idea for a story, game or series, but I always get stuck because I don't know how to properly present all of it's details to make a story good...
Somethings we cannot explain, neither should we provoke them.

Re: Fictional Races, Flora and Fauna

Xaithai:
The Xaithai live on a distant planet and are relitively calm and value balance.

Biology and Appearance:
The Xaithai look like humans but only posses one body type, long legs and somewhat shorter torsos. They are generaly a clean race that does not recquire washing because their skin cells fall off with any dirt or oil attached and their bodies create invisible vapors that clean their clothes and hair. They are relatively tall with some being a bit short. They have no documented life span and often die in combat. They have a unique body feature that is that systems in their body have specific patterns to increase affectivness. Their muscle cells are compact and woven together in an intricate pattern like an exotic or unique fabric that lets them have great strength and flexibility. Males and females are near the same in characteristics the differing main features being that males are more flexible, durable, strong, fast and balanced, while females are usualy more pain tolerant, have a more refined sense of touch, and can tense their muscles tighter although this results in a loss of flexibility and speed for the time the muscles are tensed. They are clean in the respect that certain organs and unpleasent genderly disadvantages are either nonexistent or located in their bodies to reduce weak areas. They cant become fat and have well muscled but very slim physiques. They can choose to remain at an age for their whole life meaning that they can always be children though the chosen age is usualy in the teens. They have no hair other than eyelashes that are long, slim eyebrows, and the hair on top of their head. It is not uncommon for males to look slightly feminine due to abscence of human male characteristics. They have powerful immune systems and are tolerant of drugs and poisins. Their cells have been known to generate energy from nowhere. Their senses are somewhat more heightened than humans and they are capable of magic, telepathy, and other psychokinesis but they must train to achieve this. Their reflexes are finley tuned and are often capable of catching swords. Due to a !30,000 gene count they have varying abilities though less so than a race that will be discussed later. Their abilities are more than just genetic and as such are not negatable. They are all ambidexterous and due to a unique all direction nueral pathway system in their brains they have good muscle control, have high thinking speeds, are open minded, strong willed, and can analyze things easily. Their bones are light and hard to break.

Psychology:
The Xaithai do not believe in a great one but think that things are infinite and that something will always surpass another. They believe strongly in chaos and order or yin and yang and will do much to preserve it's balance for the saftey of the universe. They have been known to start wars to increase the amount of yang energy in the unverse. Their psyches vary with the usual being empathetic but calm and open minded. They can be quite serious and do tasks efficentley. Often they find joy in challenges and combat though they are not evil or violents usualy. There is however a higher rate of psychopathy among them than other races. They believe in preperation and versitility.

Abiities:
Variety: The Xaithai have eratic genes and essences that cause each to have a single self power. There are many self powers that will be discussed in a different race.

Energy: The Xaithai are excelent at manipulating and creating energy that can be incorperated into many techniques.

Transform: The Xaithai cells can become near invincible for short amounts of time but they need inner physical conflict for this. As a result a huge confliction of a temporary gender switch activates this state in wich all natural abilities are increased.

Training: The Xaithai can train very hard to learn new skills and push their powers to the limit. They can gain a variety of powers through this training.

Realtions to other races:

The Xaithai generaly are trusted by other races but are sometimes avoided. They are occasionaly valued as crazy for their atheism and value of yin yang energy.

So...

The super psychic race?

With no weaknesses at all?
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

They can be shot, stabbed, chocked, burned, etc. Plus they have an obsesive compulsive disorder for balancing universal yin yang energy.
