Re: Domain Game Quest

Gentleman Vaultboy
You take a look around at your troops, some very silent debate goes on, until finally, you reach a consensus.

You pull up your wrist map and look for other options. An idea occurs while looking at the cliffs that separate the Vally from the greater jungle. You wave the group onward, and the 4 of you move away through the jungle. The cliffs extend into the jungle itself, and you reach one presently, opening up your book as you do so.

"Hole." It comes out in a course whisper, and reality adapts to you yest again. The change is almost instantaneous; there wasn't a hole here, it's there now, as if it had always been there. A circular hole in the rock that extends all the way through the mountain. You climb in, and the others follow quickly.

You move forward, guided by the light at the end of the tunnel, until you emerge into a pleasant little valley. Flowers dot the landscape in wild bushels, and you see a few small trees here and there. At the very back is a small lake, in the middle of which sits an island, in the middle of which sits a chest. A pleasant little bridge connects the island to the land.

On the other side of the valley is a large stone door, thankfully closed.

You quickly sent the creeps across the valley to watch the door. Meanwhile, you and Peter head toward the chest. You leave Peter on the bridge as you cross it, his sharp eyes on weary lookout.

You reach the chest successfully, and quickly lift it open. You manage to stay on your feet this time as the flash of light heralds the arrival of another ally.

A boy stands before you, hair cropped and well kept, eyes wary. He looks at you, and doesn't smile.

"You're Arthur? I was expecting someone with a more... heroic build."

Re: Domain Game Quest

Gentleman Vaultboy
You look around, straining to find the other chest. There should be two here, judging by the fact that the chest indentation in the grass beside the one that this guy just came out of. You wonder for a moment, until you hear Peters yell and a crackling, burning sound. You turn around quickly, relived to see that it was only one of the monks frying and falling into charred pieces before devolving into ash.

You look up the steps. At the top of them, sashaying down casually, finger outstretched, is a girl dressed in more red then you have ever seen. She looks like shes dressed for winter, and the only skin that is visible on is her head. Red jacket, red pants, red gloves with little poofy red balls hanging from them, even red earmuffs, all trimmed in white. She looks like Santa, and doesn't seem to mind.

She reaches the bottom, and the other monk eyes her wearily. She reaches into her pocket, causing the creep to actually flip back, before withdrawing an orb. She shakes it and calls out, "Parlay." But you can understand that word, you hear it for what it is.

You are only alive because I find it amusing for you to be so.

You tell everyone to run. They don't need to be told twice, and your group rushes for the hole. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." She calls, just as a load roar echoes through the makeshift tunnel. Peter, first to make it, backs slowly away from it and looks at you. You look back at the girl and she reaches down into the dust of the creep she had destroyed, and pulls out a tiny crystal shard.

"That's just Gulp, don't worry about him." she says, advancing at a leisurely pace, tossing the orb up and catching it like a baseball. She's smiling, bright and cheerful and subtly wrong, as if she learned how to buy watching bad soap operas.

When she gets closer she suddenly stops, and looks at you as if seeing you for the first time. She scrutinizes each of your faces. "I don't know any of you." she says, confusion playing across her face. I was sure it would be Amanda and Marion. It could only be Amanda and Marion. Who are you?"

Re: Domain Game Quest

That look of confusion on her face is almost cute.

"But...." she starts, then looks up as if thinking.

"No, no, that's not true. See, I've seen them. I've shot at them, the three of them, Armand, Amanda, and Marion. You were not with them, and if you weren't with them Clarissa would know about you. It doesn't matter how you hide, if you aren't  with Armand she should see you."

She looks from you, to Peter, to the creep, to the new guy-

Her face lights up with realization. She points an accusing finger at him, and he holds up his arms to shield himself and starts inching behind you.

"And who the hell is that guy, HUH? There can't be three of you here, only two. Clarissa sensed TWO and unless she's been lying to me again...." but she stops, and puts her finger down. She looks at you three, holds her hand to her chin and asks "Who am I?"

She notes he looks on your face, and clarifies.

"Do you know who I am?" She's grinning now. From here you can tell that's it's like a coat; she can take it on and off whenever she pleases. And the way she asks the question tells you that this is some sort of test.

(I'm guessing her name is some variation of the color red, different shade or language perhaps. I'm not sure if I missed something else that could be related to her name, so this is my best guess.)

She looked over them, sly little grin on her face.

"Smart." she said, leaning forward. Her face is inches from yours. "I like that. This would be so much more aggravating if you weren't smart. I might get pissed." Like a snake she darts forward, and you can hear her voice in you're ear. "How many do you think you can kill, before this is all over? 5? 10? Or do you intend to shoot for the moon?"

You stumble back as she throws back her head and laughs. "Yeah, yeah, that suits me just fine. Things are getting interesting again." She steps out of your way, beckoning to the door. "Don't let me keep you. I'm sure you're eager to get back to your team."

You move forward a bit, but stop before the Red Leader. She looks a mite surprised by this.

"What? You want to ask me something?"

She seems bemused.
