Cores that have not been mastered yet sometimes have effects that can not be hidden and newly activated Cores may display their powers before the Core User has a chance to hide them.

Certain regions of Aeon that have both the knowledge and resources can use Correnite to discover Core Users. Correnite can violently alter the power level of a Core User and reveal them if they have not reached a power level close to the Spirit/Aspect stage.

If the Core User is able to hide their powers and the Correnians in the area do not have the resources to search them out then they can remain relatively hidden. This can also cause Core Users to not realize that they are a Core User if their Core awakens without any early noticeable effect and the Core User does not take any action to cause it to grow after that point.

Fun Fact that I probably have not mentioned up to this point. Correnite comes from the effects of the presence of Aeon's largest moon, which is also the celestial body the Crystal-Woman elemental turned into. This moon is also entirely made of Correnite except for an outer layer created from space dust. The Symbiotes that I mentioned in the timeline have a similar origin as they are created from the presence of the Dragon elemental in the sun.

What causes a core to grow?

How many stages are there?

Usage. When the Core uses its power it recharges more power than it used.

Just two stages. 3+ if you count the unique evolutions that could occur such as the stuff that happened to me in NB. The second stage is just where they separate from their original body and become their aspect form, usually keeping the same image of their original body. Power and personal power development can vary at any point in these two stages.

I'm thinking of showing he unawakened cores influence as giving he an unconscious knowledge of the most effective way to get from point A to point B. Real speed run tactics stuff, like taking all the right shortcuts, and stepping off these newspapers here to gain a slightly faster time, and running at exactly the right pace to not get tired.

So, the core is basically a reality warping computer designed to handle one broad concept, and overdrives are programs that the core can execute to do specific things related to that broad concept?

Because that's the metaphor I've been using to understand it. I'm I in the ballpark?

And as the core grows in power it can execute better programs and the programs it had before become easier to execute?

So if I took one that increased my ability, and then later took one that let me teleport, the teleport one would be better but the agility would be easier to do?

You got it right again.

Let me go into more specifics for this part.

At the moment the second Overdrive is obtained, what you said would be true. It would be more powerful relative to the current power of the Core User. The first Overdrive would also be easier to reactive compared to the second during the period after.

This is not to say that the first Overdrive will always be at a constant power level from when it was obtained as the Overdrive will grow in strength relative to the Core user. Eventually, all of a Core User's Overdrives will reach a point where they can be activated at will so the differences between them would be their effects and their power level based on which ones are trained.

The effects of an Overdrive do not have to be constant either but it has to follow a natural progression, not turning into something completely different. For example, there was this Overdrive I made that allowed the Core User to form a large chunk of meteoric rock around their fist for a stronger punch. The Overdrive improved naturally over time as the rock compacted into a glove and a point formed on the end for a more impactful strike.

In the late stages of Core development, past the transition into their aspect form, new Overdrives can be developed and stored once the Core User can develop/code them. The natural formation of Overdrives still exists at this stage, but the sudden formation of an Overdrive in this stage usually turns into what I call the Ultimate Overdrives.

How many overdrives can a core user posses, and what sort of naming scheme do they have, if any?

Also, I assume the system is that the first overdrive gets better once you gain the third.

I've never set a limit. The rate at which they could be obtained would increase so that they would be rare in the early stages but able to be reconstructed at the late stages.

No naming scheme. The names just serve as a way for the Core User to easily recall them and can serve to add thematic bonuses later.

Yeah, and when the fourth is obtained Overdrives 1-3 would have been improved.

I am getting into this.

So, an improvement tree for the same overdrive would be:

Hermes (Sandals that allow the user a quick burst of speed) ---> Hermes: Jet (allows the user a continuous use of speed) ---> Hermes: All Range Mode (Keeps speed, gains flight).

And that's a level one Overdrive, the first one.

That should be fine. You do not have to rename the overdrive every time you improve it unless you want.

The way I use it is: Overdrive: Sub-Technique.

For example: Singularity, Singularity: Solar Singularity, Singularity: Time-Locked, Etc.

Those three are all on the same base power level but the method in which the base program of the Overdrive is executed is changed.

There are so many things I could do with travel. Make vehicles, known where interesting sights are, all sorts of movement powers. The only problem will be deciding what order to take them in.

Also, what's a good name I could make so the initials would be G.P.S?

You could always pick a theme for your character and build off that, or multiple themes and fuse them together.

Some information on power growth:

Say you have a Fire Core Correnian. This Correnian trains allowing him to create bigger or hotter fires. This would be Additive Power Growth.

If this same Correnian trains his skill in the power and learns how to manipulate heat or the light of the flames in combination with the fire itself, then this would be Multiplicative Power Growth.

Finally, if this Correnian moves on to more Thematic uses of his power, such as changing his flames from simple fires to that of a dragon's fire, then this would be Exponential Power Growth.

Thematic bonuses actually make Core User's stronger.

I'm not so good at names, so for that part you might just want to check a name generator.
