Card Game Roleplay!

"Stagecoach is nearly ready, can you see about getting us some supplies from the village. We will need them for the longer trip to the Heart's kingdom, and they don't particularly like Spades around here for me to do it."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Fine, but you owe me. For this and saving your ass back there."

[Philote]

"If we can survive these Jokers, I'll be sure to repay you."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

I walk into the town square to collect a few thigs for the trip. Food, water, and other supplies. Then I head back to the carrage.

[Celadon's Penultimate]

==House of Philian==

The King was obviously not pleased with the news of impending war. Though, fortunately, he was taking it rather well...

"YOU BLUNDERING TEN! I NEVER SHOULD HAVE HIRED YOU FOR THE JOB!!!"

Queen Cordelia shook her head and sighed as her husband spouted about every curse word he could think of, cursing my name, my family, my friends, my generations and any other person with the audacity to not realize me for the worthless bloody fool I was. When at last he was done, the Queen spoke calmly.

"What my husband means is, you'll need to round up some fellows from outside our ranks. I'd suggest you offering them help in catching THEIR Jokers, in return for them helping you catch ours. The job won't be easy, but if it'll prevent war in Deckstack, then it's worth it, isn't it?"

"I personally agree, wholeheartedly!" a familiar voice came, "You should do whatever it takes to bring those mean old Jokers in. Even if it means cooperating with the other Kingdoms."

"That's right, Jack. So, Ten, I want YOU to be our ambassador." The Queen continued, "Go forth, and be vigilant for any emissaries of the other Kingdoms. Join up with men you deem most worthy."

Jack stammered in disbelief, "Bu-but, Milady, I thought the King just called him a no-good so-and-so! A blight on the House of Philian, and a disgrace to the Hearts Kingdom!"

"Thanks..." I grumbled.

"Send me instead!" Jack continued.

But the Queen wouldn't hear of it, "I want Ten to go. You'll stay on as our adviser, like always. Now, I won't hear of the matter again. I'm going to play Bridge with the handmaidens."

Jack sighed, and saluted her as she got up to leave, and the two of us followed her out the door; Jack off to his boring adviser work, and me back to find some company as I would go out to find the Hearts' Joker, Gin.

Once my Clubs friend was ready we set off towards the Heart's kingdom.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Let's bash some Joker heads..."

[Philote]

"I've set our course to head towards the outermost Heart's outpost, we can begin our search from there."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

The trip was long and boring and I fell alseep on multiple occasions. Soon we approched the outskirts of the outpost.

[Celadon's Penultimate]

Just as I was on the verge of setting out to the nearest Spades settlement, I saw a familiar insignia pull into the Hearts outpost.

"Oh, that's fortunate. Now, to give them the business to feel them out."

I walk up to their carriage, and put forth a hand with a stern face. If they're officials, great, they can help me. If not, great, I can take my frustration out on them by threatening them about nonexistent taxes and tariffs. The carriage comes to a stop.

"HALT!" I say, with a face borderline angry, "STATE YOUR BUSINESS!"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Hunting down a rogue Joker....You gonna try and stop me?"

[Celadon's Penultimate]

"Oh, my, yes, I'll have to stop you. Heaven forbid you make my job easier by taking down those horrid abominations against intellect and nature."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

I stare down the man for a few seconds then burst out laughing. "You're all right, buddy"

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "And who might you guys be? Don't tell me the House of Brutalis and the House of Xiphidor sent emissaries already? Man, they work fast..."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Well, it's a bit more complicated than that, but that pretty much sums it up."

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "I-I'm not sure I understand. You ARE emissaries from the other Royal Houses, aren't you? Or am I mistaken? I mean, I REALLY need help to recapture that blasted Gin, and I figured you could offer you my assistance in catching Hold 'Em, Pokerface and even...Solitaire in return."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Wait, you're telling me they're all loose? This is grim news indeed. We will help you, we have no other choice.

[Celadon's Penultimate]

"That's right, they're all out and about. And so, if we're going to work together, I think that we should start in the next town. Not much is going to be found here, but the next town will likely be terrorized pretty bad. Gin is lazy, and doesn't like to stray too far from home unless he finds something he likes. Let's just...hope he doesn't find anything he likes."

"Oh good, more traveling. I'm starting to hate that carriage

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "Well, if it's too much trouble, you can always stop here for the night. I hear the pub has a great non-alcoholic ale."
