"We can take 'em..."

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "If we work together, I believe you're right. And the Deuces Wild, as well."

[Philote]

"We will find out soon, we are nearing the area now. Should we head straight through or try to sneak past?"

[Celadon's Penultimate]

"I would attempt sneaking past. Going straight through, who knows how many of them there are, and what tricks they have up their sleeves."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Bah, we need to move fast. The Jokers must be recaptured. I say we carry on through. A bunch of insane old eights can't be that much of a threat."

[Philote]

"He is right, we can not waste time going an alternate route. I suggest we travel through once the sun sets. It will be risky, but we may avoid a fight altogether with the cover of darkness."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Hmmm, Why bother hiding? We can deal with those Crazy Eights."

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "All right...if you insist. Normally I'm not the one to go looking for trouble, but...I suppose it'll be okay if you guys are okay with it. I just hope you're ready for what we'll be up against. They have powers as well, from what I've read."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"And we too have powers. We'll be fine."

[Philote]

"If anything, it will be good to rid the threat from the surrounding towns."

[Celadon's Penultimate]

"True. I suppose we can give it a shot."

[Philote]

"Then it is time we enter, everyone keep your guard up!"

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "Indeed."

"Hmph, yeah yeah"

[Philote]

We enter the boundaries of the area on the map, there are some trees on either side of us and other areas were people could hide. I continually scan either side of the road as we drive on.

The Shuffle's influence is sparse in this small sliver of land between this land and the next, but it still doesn't fail to creep me out. Wild creatures call in the distance, the foliage shuffles suspiciously and after a while, I can barely discern the path for its being so dark.

Just to be safe, I turn into a cat, in case I must act quickly and stealthily.

[Philote]

"What should we do? We can't navigate in this darkness and we have a good while until it gets lighter."

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "Um...I'm not quite sure. Perhaps one of you has something we can use for a torch?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"How about...a torch? I say holding up a chunk of wood.

[Celadon's Penultimate]

 "That could work?"
